This event occurred on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. American Towing made a delivery of a shipping container to my property at *** ********* *****, Easley, SC 29640. When meeting with the delivery driver, Keith, he asked me the location I wanted the container, I showed him and he said “okay”. No other comments were made. He didn’t say or indicate that it would be too difficult to place the container in the requested location. He didn’t say or suggest that he would need to drop the shipping container somewhere else, he just proceeded to do it. In the process of dropping the shipping container, he crushed a brand new 4” concrete pad that I had just had installed the week before because he lowered his steel bar at the back of the truck onto the concrete to lift up the weight of his truck, causing the concentrated pressure of the truck on the small surface area of the metal bar to crush the pad. He apologized profusely and said the owner of the company would be in contact with me that day to take care of the issue and fix the pad. The shipping container company was also contacted and I spoke with Daniella, with *** **********, and she also stated that she contacted American Towing and that the owner of the company would be reaching out to me that day. No one reached out to me that day. I contacted both *** ********** and American Towing the next day 6/1. I did not get a response from *** **********, but I did get in contact with Caitlyn with American Towing. I explained to her the situation and she apologized and told me that I would not be able to speak with the owner as I was told, but that she would reach out to him and get back to me. I called Friday 6/2 to check in with Caitlyn, as I did not receive a call back. And she stated that the owner said they would not be paying for damages and hung up on me. I contacted *** ********** again 6/2 and have not received a call back yet. I simply want to be reimbursed for the damages their driver did to my brand new $3000 concrete pad.
