On 09/4/2024 I drop off my Suv because I got a quote on water pump replacement I asked if it included the thermostat because I usually did this when I replaced a water pump. The reason I took it to a shop is because I got Out of the ********** industry and no longer worked art a shop to do this. The service writer said they may have to change the whole thermostat housing due to the tech not having a specialized tool. I was ok with it and they did after rechecked with me. I picked it up and paid for it and noticed the parking assist was out. They said that was from being hit in the back bumper which was done years ago, at sometime in a parking lot and noticed a sensor loose, figured I would pop it back in at home then I wentbto run some errands in ************ while being on that side of the waterway and I just kept watching the temp and it was staying at 210 degrees like normal went to bank and ******* which is a mile or less from each other then proceeded to go to another store and my suv was showing less than the normal on voltage which is 14 volts and dash lights came and have to get home wasn't charging. Sent a text of a picture of my meter showing ***** volts while running meaning the alternator was not charging I took it back the next day as soon as I got 5 minutes down the road theywhere quoting my like $830. Alternator just don't go out in a shop. They just did a quick voltage test just confirming what I already knew. They didn't bother to recheck their work or pull it even in the shop. I turned around and picked it up 7 mins later. The water pump is right next to the alternator and had to be messed with while fixing the waterpump,, it even uses the same belt. Not to mention they had to pull my electrcial fuse and relay box and wires and disconnect my battery behind my passenger seat inside. I was an RV technician for 25 years and did power supplys for 8 years before that to mil- specs and have my degree. I need to know the next step to do. ***

    Hello,

I am quite familiar with this customer and the situation. Customer brought his vehicle in with parts he supplied and wanted us to repair the specific issue that he had diagnosed. The customer supplied the wrong parts for the vehicle, we then had to locate and have the parts delivered, and then do the requested repairs.  He was adamant that he did not need a diagnosis for his issue. These repairs did not fix the issue and let to and alternate issue for his 2012 vehicle. He then brought it back and was mad because we had to charge him a fee to diagnose the issue he was having at the time, our shop minimum is 55.00 for the diagnosis. We did not charge him. He then was extremely upset because we did not run a complete full diagnostic, hooked up to all of the computers to see what the underlying issues were.

If you need further information, let me know. I can attach the facebook messenger conversation if necessary.

    Sincerely,

    Carrie Rockenstein
