5 starsWe had a great experience with Modern Roofing. Blake worked with us in every way possible. He was was very knowledgeable, kind, patient and got our new roofing approved when it looked like every attempt failed. He stuck with us and always reassured us. We had Modern Roofing come look at our roof because some of our neighbors had experienced hail damage recently. We called Modern Roofing to give us a free inspection which they advertised. The Summerville branch sent an employee out and he climbed onto the roof and took some pictures and got roof measurements from a satellite app that many roofing companies utilize. The rep told us he would work up a claim and submit it to our insurance company. When asked we were told by two different employees that we did not have to use them but could use anyone to install the roof. What they failed to tell us was if we didn’t use them then they would bill us for 10% of the approved value of our roof replacement. This amounts to a bill sent to us for $2500. When we called to say we were going to use another company we got a rude phone call from their rep who yelled at my wife that we needed to use Modern Roofing or they would sue us and report us to the credit bureau if we didn’t comply. We felt threatened and taken advantage of because we are senior citizens. We also feel this because they did not disclose or explain the fine print in their paperwork. We feel scammed with a kind of bait and switch scheme to force us to pay them. NEVER use this company for any of their services until you read the negative reviews posted to the Better Business Bureau site.

A fee is only applied if Modern Roofing successfully completes the required tasks to get your roof fully approved, and you subsequently decide to use a different provider. Just had my roof replaced by them. It's been roughly a month. They took the tarp I had on my roof, absolutely nothing wrong with the tarp either. It was a cheap tarp and I was supposed to be reimbursed for the tarp still haven't seen the money for it. They keep telling me it will be there next week or I can bring it by this week. Very unprofessional to promise someone something then not deliver on your word. Oh and another thing don't expect them to submit and supplementals for other things aka solar panels to get reimbursed for that from your insurance company, it's been almost a month and nothing yet other than "oh yea we submitted one". Uh no you didn't I've spoken to the adjuster and they have received nothing. You screw my family out of thousands of dollars this is what you're getting. Now as for the quality of work the installers were very professional and efficient, that is the only reason I gave them any stars at all. Get stuff fixed and I'll change my review until then very unsatisfied with Grant from Modern RoofingModern Roofing LLC

1 starWe suffered our roof damage during Hurricane Helene on 9/27/2024. We were eager to get our claim started for restoration. Modern Roofing initially presented us with a quote of a/b $12,000 and called us to tell us that they had underestimated, and the price would be double what they had initially quoted. After our insurance company sent the cost of everything that would need to be repaired in our home as well as outside, this company started moving line items around to reduce our deductible. I would have rather had them get contractors to cover the additional repairs and request a bigger tarp for the roof. They failed to properly tarp our roof. After several contacts were made to MR no one came out to help. The issue is that the company didn't tarp our roof properly and 16 plywoods were damaged from exposure to rain and moisture. Preston(GM), informed us that we have to pay additional fees to cover the plywood. That's $1200 even though he agreed to go half he wouldn't provide us an itemized invoice to send to our insurance company. It appears they inflated the cost of the roof and now our insurance won't cover the additional materials b/c it's already on the claim. They wouldn't willingly assist with interior/exterior repairs. My husband had to beg to put up half of a downed gutter, which was done today. We wrote 2 ****** reviews and called corporate about 2 weeks ago and not until then were we able to get a response. GM decided that he'd send the tarping team out and retarp the side of the house that hadn't been leaking, the damaged side was still not adjusted. He basically wanted us to change the negative ****** review and offered $900 off the cost of the $1800 fee for our upgraded shingles. Now he's refusing to allow our insurance company to cover the cost of the plywood, the plywood is unnail able and delaminated from what a third representative of Modern Roofing explained to us. The refusal to provide the invoice for these items is extremely questionable.Review fromMichelle O

1 starTheir sales guy Will is sending me threats to delete my 1 star review on ******. Modern Roofing is highly unethical and engages in deceitful practices and its a pattern of behavior. It took more than 6 months of chasing them to repair the damage done to my house. Connor the manager was always on vacation when I asked for updates and kept using legal threats to demand final payment when their poor workmanship caused leaks. I’m writing this review now because of the ongoing harassment and extortion attempts by this company.Review fromStephen R

1 star**Review of Modern Roofing** My experience with Modern Roofing has been beyond frustrating and disappointing. After severe hail damage to our home, we chose them based on initial conversations with Matthew (now departed from the company), who assured us of a smooth process for our first homeowners insurance claim. Sadly, that was not the case. We paid half of the contract upfront, and the roof work started promptly. Initially, everything seemed fine, with regular updates from Matthew. However, problems arose after the roofing was completed. The crew that arrived to install our gutters showed up unannounced and late in the evening, creating a concerning lack of communication. Once the gutters were done, we received no updates for weeks. I reached out multiple times to check on the siding and window installation, but my inquiries went unanswered. Eventually, a different employee informed us that Matthew had left the company and that there were delays in ordering our siding and windows. A month had passed since we last heard from them, which felt unprofessional. A week later, I was told they could no longer continue the project due to ongoing issues with permits and material delays. It was clear they were cutting their losses, as our new contractor managed to get the same siding and windows ordered and delivered within two weeks. The new contractor also discovered that the gutters had been improperly installed. There was no proper sealing at the downspout connections, which could lead to leaks. When we contacted Modern to address this issue, subcontractors came out but failed to verify the problem or follow through on corrections. We are still waiting 3 weeks later, at the time of this review. Many others in our area have reported similar issues, such as being ghosted after roofing work was finished or facing poor craftsmanship. 1 starModern Roofing of Marietta, Ga staff Aaron A***** and Brian S**** came to our home on 9/20/24 said we needed a roof and we haven't had no leaks or anything until Brian S**** and Aarron A***** came out we do believe they intentionally damaged back part of the roof it collapsed tonight before this happened Aaron came by the house saying our policy number was incorrect and he was acting strange so we do believe that was needing a sale and cause this damage we have before pictures of our sun room before this happened. I talked to Matthew the manger and of acourse he denied it said his people wouldn't do this. So, dont use Modern Roofing.
