In April of 2024, I had two foundation companies in my crawlspace performing work. Ramjack SouthEast came and removed a sunken living room, installed new floor joists then, installed several helical piers in my crawlspace. Then, Foundation Doctor came in and installed a French Drain system, vapor barrier, sealed vents, sump pump and dehumidifier. While the Foundation Doctor employees were in the crawlspace, they found a couple of the previously installed helical pier brackets to be loose and notified me of this condition. I notified RamJack SouthEast’s Robby P**** of the findings. Mr. P**** came out, checked the brackets and assured me the condition of them was satisfactory. My concern about this is that Mr. P**** did not accept accountability for the brackets being loose and wanted to blame the other company for them being loose. All of the helical pier information for my home is recorded with the county and it raises concerns for me because I feel RamJack may need to hire a third party to go behind individuals and verify whether they are properly performing their work. They may need to hire an independent Quality Control agency when crew supervisors refuse to accept accountability. The other company found the issue, they did not sabotage it. I chose RamJack Southeast because I thought they had a good reputable crew. I observed Mr. P**** to be a hard worker who treats his crew well. I can also attest that the Foundation Doctor workers are good, hard workers who hold themselves to a much higher standard. I wish more work crews were like this!

      Hello,
My concern for you closing my complaint is that RamJack Southeast will continue to do business and not take responsibility for mistakes that are made and future RamJack SouthEast customers will suffer the consequences. What Mr. P**** did, trying to accuse a reputable company of sabotage, when the mistakes were made by him, is unprofessional and unacceptable. The installation of the helical pier system is inspected by York County inspectors and recorded with the county. If this system is not installed properly my home’s foundation may be at risk. RamJack SouthEast and the company RamJack as a whole needs to be made aware that this type of work is going on. There is a guarantee that goes along with this helical pier system. This type of behavior, especially by a crew supervisor not performing quality work, puts other homes in jeopardy. Although he treated his crew well and was a hard worker, the act of not admitting his own mistakes and laying blame on another company is not allowed in any work environment. This is not a good practice for any business. I hope the reason for my complaint being closed is not partiality towards this business or any of it’s employees.
      Sincerely,
      Diana H****

I would like for someone who is knowledgeable in upper management with this company to contact me and ensure me that my helical pile system is not in jeopardy because Mr. P**** left the brackets loose. I need to know whether it requires a reinspection by someone with York county. In the event, I sell my home in the future, I need to make sure the system is not jeopardized because an employed failed to pay attention to detai. The fact that he tried to blame another company for something he failed to do has raised  the concerns. I have also notified a manager with the Foundation Doctor about this.

This customer exhibited aggressive behavior and directed verbal abuse towards our employees through the entire duration of the install. Our employees have maintained a record of numerous threatening messages from her during this period, while they consistently responded to her in a calm and professional manner to assure her of our commitment to quality service.

Each day on site, our crew received threatening messages shortly before arrival and immediately after departure. Strangely, on the last day upon completion of the job and collection of the final payment, her demeanor changed drastically. She was very pleasant and even provided a glowing review on our jobber network, along with a generous gift as a token of appreciation.

Later, another company installed a French drain and encapsulation/vapor barrier under her home. On their first day there, our crew leader received a voicemail and more threatening messages from her, alleging that our helical piles and brackets were loose and that we had overlooked work under the home. Our crew leader promptly addressed her concerns, speaking with both her and the technician overseeing the encapsulation project.

Upon investigation, it was found that a bracket had indeed loosened. However, our crew leader verified through photographs taken upon completion of our installation that all brackets were secure at that time. The competing company had altered Ram Jack’s work in order to attempt to sell the customer more work.

Despite these challenges, by the end of the last visit, she expressed satisfaction with Ram Jack's efforts and our work. Ram Jack went above and beyond to ensure her happiness before leaving. During many of her outbursts she would apologize profusely stating she was going through personal issues and displacing her emotions.

I am rejecting this response because: From the very beginning, when Ramjack Southeast employees came to my home, they acted unprofessionally. They removed materials for a fence which I personally had installed to protect my dogs during this process. This fence barrier was to keep my dogs from getting out and possibly getting hit by an automobile. The RamJack Southeast employees and crew leader showed no consideration for my property until I brought it to their attention. Yes, this did result in an outburst from me. I regard my dogs as family. How can anyone come on my property and remove my materials without consulting me? No professional company does this. This company came to my home, removed my property, which I installed to protect my animals. They had no right to do that. They did not ask permission to do any of this. I got upset on another occasion due to RamJack Southeast damaging my insulation.  RamJack Southeast removed my insulation, put it out in my yard and did not cover it properly and it got damaged. The RamJack Southeast employees treated my home as if money grows on trees. It was as though that insulation getting damaged did not matter. If I had been a man and reacted to these things, it would not have been considered an unreasonable outburst. But, because I am a woman, this company thinks I am overly reacting. Thus, instead of taking responsibility for a crew leader that half-way runs his crew and cannot admit he made an error, RamJack Southeast wants to try and pass the buck on a woman that not quibblle over their price, bought them breakfasts and lunches, but she did have a couple of outbursts due to her property being torn down and lack of proper oversight. I did apologize to the RamJack Southeast crew for my outbursts because I want the work environment to be to be calm. The line  got crossed when a crew leader decided another company loosened some brackets. This is where the common sense takes over. The Foundation Doctor company had absolutely nothing to gain. My RamJack Southeast helical pile system contract had been signed, mostly paid for at this time. I had also mostly paid for the contract with Foundation Doctor. When I compare the work the employees of the two crews did, well, right off the bat RamJack Southeast got off on the wrong foot by removing my materials. It went downhill further when they damaged insulation. The crew leader made good on the damaged insulation. The Foundation Doctor employees were professional, considerate, hard-working Individuals. Apparenty, RamJack Southeast is driven by individuals that do not appreciate female customers. Mr. P**** cannot accept the possibility for mistakes he makes and lack of crew oversight causing a homeowner undue stress. The Foundation Doctor employees had absolutely nothing to gain. I had signed a contract with Ramjack. I had no intention of having helical piles installed by the Foundation Doctor. He is trying to blame an other company for his lack of attention to detail.
      Sincerely,
      Diana H****

The fence consisted of pallets leaned against a plastic mesh fence with blocks at the base. Initially mistaken for debris, it was removed during the repair process. Upon learning it was a makeshift fence, our crew promptly apologized, reconstructed a new fence, and ensured it met the customer's standards.

On the first day, the living room floor was removed and confirmed satisfactory by the customer before our departure. However, shortly after our crew left, the customer sent profanity-laden messages alleging damage to her air conditioning. Responding immediately, our crew returned and discovered it was a simple switch that had been turned off, not attributable to our work.

During the foundation repair process, we took care to place the customer’s insulation atop plastic and wrapped it to shield it from the elements. Despite our precautions, the customer was upset to find moisture within the protective layer due to unavoidable circumstances. Ram Jack confirmed no damage was caused to the insulation, yet out of goodwill, offered to replace it to alleviate any concerns. The customer declined this offer.

We possess photographic documentation confirming that all brackets were securely fastened during installation. Furthermore, our work successfully passed all required building inspections conducted by York County building inspectors.

I am rejecting this response because:

I can continue on and on as to why RamJack Southeast at my home led me to spending additional  money due to a lack of oversight by Mr. P**** and his work crew. I have observed two separate foundation crews in my home. One is the Foundation Doctor and the other RamJack Southeast. Foundation Doctor presented itself as a superior working crew with proper oversight. RamJack Southeast did not have the proper oversight for their crew which led to errors made by the workers. The fence that was temporarily installed was not “plastic”, it was a 50 ft roll of 2x4 vinyl coated metal fencing purchased at Lowes. It was stretched across a concrete driveway and attached to T-posts. The pallets were placed against the fence, held together with additional boards and nails, using cement blocks at the base. This was a makeshift fence, but it was to keep my dogs from getting out to the road while my living room was being worked on to allow my dogs access to the back yard through the garage. No one had permission to remove any contents of this fence. No one! The insulation was removed and placed outside. It was sparsely covered with plastic which allowed water to enter and damage the insulation. The workers also damaged an aluminum hedge border rendering it useless. This was brought to Mr. P****’s attention and a new border was ordered and replaced. The AC unit switch being off was indeed a result of the RamJack Southeast crew performing work. Additional costs incurred as a result of improper oversight were due to not covering the  AC vents during the living room demo. Pruett’s Heating & Air charged $600 to clean the furnace from all of the dust that had accumulated in the unit due to the work being performed in the crawlspace. If RamJack Southeast cannot see that Mr. P**** was lacking in providing proper oversight and that he made errors yet is trying to blame another company, my suggestion is to notify RamJack Corporate. I know what happened at my home as I observed both companies. Foundation Doctor has various individuals to come in after the work crew leaves to make sure the installation is satisfactory. RamJack Southeast has a crew leader but no one else. So if a brackets are found on loose on helical piles by another company it is sabotage? There was nothing to be gained by the Foundation Doctor crew by reporting this to me. They were simply doing as I had asked of them to do. If they find any problem please let me know. I ask the same thing of any work crew that comes to my home. My main concern is if my helical pile system is in jeopardy or not. If RamJack Southeat wants to accuse another company of sabotage then I do not accept that and we will have to contact RamJack Corporate to verify my system is not in jeopardy. I need to know the system that I purchased is covered under warranty and sound.

      Sincerely,
      Diana H****

First payment was payed 7-13-2022 of $810.00, Second payment payed 7-18-2022 of $14,800.00, made when they was suppose to level my house. After this was done walls was cracked and doors would not close. Third payment was payed 3-22-2023 of $6,000.00. They came back raised the house apparently to high, then the front door would not lock and I was alone with unsafe door and more cracks. The house is still with more cracks. Apparently the workers didn't know what they were doing or didn't care. There was suppose to level the house, but they DID NOT tell me, there would be crack wall. Also, I have asked if they were going to repair my house and they ever answer me. I'm sure if they came back they would charge me. But a contractor friend told me never let them do any more work for me. They have really TRASHED my house. The initial payment was paid by credit card, but the other two payments was paid by personal checks. I think they should help pay for repairs or pull their license.
