October 2,2023 - I went for a routine annual eye exam that my health insurance covers everything but a $20 copay. January 27,2024 - I received a bill for $295 (eye exam) and $70 (refraction). and after Clemson Eye submitted to my health insurance, my portion owed was $143.74. I called CE to inquire about the amount due and they explained to me that ** ****** coded it as medical (instead of vision) because I had a condition called Dry Eye. I had never heard of Dry Eye and told them this was never discussed and when they disagreed, I asked what was prescribed to fix Dry Eye and they didn’t have an answer. It’s all very suspicious. If it had been discussed, I certainly would have remembered. I also suggested that they might have gotten their patients mixed up?!Business Response

Good Morning,
We apologize for the error. The dry eye diagnosis has been removed from the billing. Claim is in process of rebilling. A new statement will be generated once patient responsibility has been corrected.
If you have any questions please reach out to.

My wife's eye doctor recommended she go to Clemson Eye after running a series of tests to try to figure out what's causing her vision problems. We were apprehensive after hearing so many negative comments and reviews but trusted her judgement. She stated Dr Sreenivasa B************ was very good. We were told to arrive early as he hates people being late. The place was packed and we waited for an hour before she was seen. They ran most of the same tests her eye doctor had ran, being shuffled from room to room for another hour. He finally came in and basically said he couldn't find much wrong. He seemed in a rush to leave and just disinterested. She mentioned dry eyes. He said to schedule another appointment next week with someone else there for a prescription! I cancelled that and caller her eye doctor to get the prescription that same day. On our follow up visit with her eye doctor, Dr Michelle C*****, another couple tests were done. Dr C***** reviewed the notes from Clemson Eye and couldn't understand why nothing was done. We voiced our absolute displeasure with Clemson Eye and said we'd never return. She decided to send her to ANOTHER specialist because of Clemson Eye's inaction. Now we have to go through the entire process again! To add insult to injury we received a bill from Clemson Eye for $131. That money was wasted and now we'll have to pay another eye doctor (and waste another 2 hours) for the same thing Clemson Eye was supposed to address. Dr C***** was shocked and disappointed that they didn't attempt to help. Clemson Eye, in our opinion, is the worst and Dr C***** informed us that Dr. Sreenivasa B************ is no longer there! We should not have to pay for eye tests that were already done. Dr C***** sent those results to them before we went. We shouldn't have to pay for his worthless evaluation since he did nothing and we now have to do it all over again somewhere else.Business Response

On 02/27/23 I called to reschedule my appointment with Dr B****** who I was referred to. On 3/2/23 I was notified by phone call that my appointment on 03/03/23 needed to be rescheduled because the dr wouldn’t be in that day. I rescheduled my appointment for 03/16/23. I got a confirmation email reminder on 03/14/23. I got a confirmation text reminder on 03/16/23 for my 330pm appointment. I showed up at 3:15. The employee who checked me in said that my appointment was canceled because the dr was unwell. The employee said she would check my phone number on file and reschedule me when another cornea specialist was available. The employee then moved on to another customer. No follow up was done. I should have been contacted before I showed up. I live out of town which is an hour roundtrip commute to this specific location because that is the location dr b****** runs out of. I had to pay for **** fare and modified my work schedule to attend this appointment. The employee in question and clemson eye itself are not professional and should know better when it comes to business practices. I have uploaded my confirmation email and **** statements. I request to be compensated for their unprofessionalism. I would not recommend this business.Business Response

First of all, I do want to apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused Ms. *********. We did call the patient to reschedule her appointment on March 3, 2023 due to Dr B****** not being in the office. We tried to call the patient several times to reschedule but did not get a response for the March 16, 2023 appointment . Dr. B****** had to be out due to a medical issue. I have looked into the response of when Ms M******** came into the office for her appointment on 3/16/2023. I have spoken to the front staff about this and going forward we will set an appointment for our providers. We at the time did not know when Dr. B****** would return to work. She still has not returned. We have a corneal specialist in Greenville that we can send this patient too but it would not be closer for her to drive. There is not a refund that we can send for her drive to her appointments but I will personally send her gift cards to help. I have tried to call the patient several times since this email and cannot get an answer. Again, we do not want unhappy patients and I wish the best for Ms. M********.
Sincerely,
Lisa * M****
