Hi Mr Willams, Guy Roofing was supposed to replace 4 boots, the board that was wet from where the boot was leaking, shingle that section, paint inside stain and replacing the vent cap on the chimney. However the only thing that was done was boots replaced. She was charged over $4000 and never gave her a contracted. She went to Guy Roofing in Cowpens SC to try to get answers but was told everyone was in a meeting.Guy Roofing, Inc.

1 starCrooks or clowns. I hired Guy Roofing to install one run of copper gutters on the back of my house. Their quote was ~$11K to install less than $2K of materials for a gutter with two downspouts. I was assured that they were experts and promised a topnotch job. Instead they sent two guys who spent one day here and the result is horrible. They used the incorrect hangers for the job and tried to jerry rig the installation which damaged the copper dripedge everywhere they mounted them. The hangers had to be bent because they weren’t intended for this use and they are randomy bent and not uniform. They aren’t even spaced uniformly (example on the left of the entryway the spacing is 17”, 27”, and then 36” across 4 hangers!?). They inappropriately screwed hangers through the face of the dripedge and into hollow crown molding, against manufacturer instructions, damaging both. Because the hangers were incorrectly installed one side of the installation is completely crooked and not level. The installer lied when asked to correct it saying they did it on purpose…weird explanation since the other side is straight and the hanger is obviously meant to be installed vertically. It was supposed to be a soldered installation but they didn’t solder anything and used messy looking white caulking (on copper?) which they tried to hide with straps even though it’s highly visible from all the second floor windows. The gutter run wasn’t continuous because they didn’t want to take the time to make internal corners line up….looks horrible. The ends of the gutter end differently….one sticks out beyond the end wall and the other ends short so the downspouts are asymmetrical. They mounted the downspouts in the wrong place and cheaped out on the installation by using straps instead of downspout brackets. Despite assurances that they would make it right, they haven’t returned to do anything and instead want full payment and are threatening a lien. I’ll see them in court. Buyer bewareReview fromCal B

1 starOn Sept. 17, 2024 we paid $150 for an assessment by Guy Roofing (Christain P*****) because we had a small leak from the attic into the dining room. He looked in the attic and on the roof and then we met to discuss. First, he asked if we needed Leafguard for our gutters, which wasn't the issue. He showed my wife and me photos of the vents and said either the vents were improperly sealed or the rusty nails that were driven into the rubber vents were the problem and showed us photos of the rusty nails. Since I am 73 years old I did not climb up on the roof myself to verify for obvious reasons. After watching the Guy Roofing video he proposed fixing the issue with their designed vents for $4,199. Since I am retired, this was an expense that we couldn't undertake, but said we'd think about it to be polite. I asked him via email to send me the photos, since we paid $150 for the assessment, but I never received them. The next day our handyman went on the roof and checked the vents and took photos and he stated that there are no rusty nails showing anywhere and he said the vents and sealant all looked in good shape since the house is only 4 years old. Although he brought sealant over he said it wasn't even necessary and it was possible the wind driven heavy rain came through the ridge row shingles as a one time event. I have concerns that we could have paid for an expensive repair no reason. I appreciate that there might be differences in professional opinions, but for people on a fixed income it's essential that we are treated fairly and honestly. Thank youReview fromCharles W

Salesman Emilio promised they could complete my roof and siding and they would work my insurance quote. They never provided me an estimate which was my mistake. After completing my roof I was told to get a handyman to replace my siding and screens in my window. I was shocked after complaining to management that I didn’t want to work with him they sent him back to do a quote for the right side of my house for the siding and it was more than the roof. The estimate didn’t even look professional. I’m convinced he did this because I was a single woman. The couple next me had no issues. Emilio fast talk and then have amnesia. I will never use Guy roofing again. I think they are vultures. I should have read reviews first. Stay away from them. They said they were a one stop shop and they are not.Guy Roofing, Inc.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We apologize for any misunderstandings and frustrations you experienced. Your feedback is important to us. We completed a full roof replacement and minor repairs as per your insurance estimate and apologize for any confusion caused by a separate quote for siding repairs. We addressed your concerns and approved the insurance estimate for partial repairs, as well as attempted to reach out, but understand you choose another contractor.Review fromMichelle S

We had a bad hail storm in our area. 4/2024 Guy Roofing put out signs on nearly every corner in our area. My 80 year old dad called them to have his roof accessed. Zack came and checked their roof out and said he felt like they had a claim. He had his tablet and asked my dad to initial so they could have permission to contact the insurance company. After three days they contacted him saying he had signed a contract wanting to know when they could set up a time for the roofing. He had no idea what they were talking about. Zack never revealed that it was a contract he was initialing. Zack never gave them a hard copy nor a digital copy. Zack lied and took advantage of an 80 year old man! Guy Roofing never gives a quote of how much they will actually do the work for. Never. In other words what ever the insurance company allows is what they take. Even if it does not cost the amount insurance pays out. You have three days to decline but we never received a contract nor did we realize a contract was even signed. To get out of it you have to pay a cancelation fee or if insurance denies you, you have 5 days to cancel. In the mean time of waiting on insurance adjusters to access the roof, Guy Roofing kept calling saying you signed a contract when can we come out? I had to get the insurance company to get a copy of the contract! Anyway the roof is replaced. I can’t say it was a good job. The flashing they put around the fireplace looks awful. My dad actual told them they didn’t do it right. So they get back on the roof and put caulking around it. It looks like a child did it. I could go on. Plain and simple, this is not a company that I would recommend because of there deceitful sales practices.Guy Roofing, Inc.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We take all feedback seriously and strive to provide clear communication and quality service to all our clients. Regarding your father's experience, we regret any confusion that may have occurred during the initial consultation and apologize if there was any misunderstanding regarding the documentation he signed. We strive to ensure all clients are fully informed before proceeding with any work. As for the flashing around the fireplace, our work order indicated that the original flashing should be reused. However, our field manager decided to replace it to ensure the best outcome for your father's home, even though it was not covered by the claim.Review fromMindy P

With the hail storm in the york sc area around 4 /20 /24 . On 4/22 We had Guy roofing come to inspect my roof. Zach P***** said the was hail damage and needed to be replaced. He said I need to give him to pay my insurance deductible $500.00 to make sure to hold the shingles they had in stock. On 4/24 my insurance inspector came out and Noticed the there was very little damage and that some of the areas that Zach had marked as hail damage was where he has REMOVED MOSS ON THE ROOF TO LOOKED AS HAIL DAMAGE. After several phone call to get my $500.00 returned . No one will call me back. This was CLEARLY an Exaggerate of damage and I believe taking advantage of. I just want my $500.00 returned.Guy Roofing, Inc.

1 starThis is a warning ?? do NOT repeat do NOT use Guy Roofing. The workmanship is awful, they cut corners, do not following building codes, and damage personal property, they cause more issue than actually fixing the roof. I hired guy roofing to replace my roof that had storm and hail damage. After they finished the job, they tried to charge me for removal of my gutter guards that didn’t need to be removed, and damaged them all, they needed notched out all the drip edge to fit around the gutter and nailed my gutter guards to the roof with none caped roofing nails and which caused water to penetrate and water to get to my sheathing and fascia, they kept telling that’s how they do it and I kept my foot down, every time they come out they damage something else. It has been a nightmare. They did go off the initial quote, like they said they would and tried to charge extra, say they did something but actually didn’t do it when asked for pictures. they don’t want to fix the issues they caused which is every single time they come out. I have more issues now that I didn’t have before guy roofing worked on my roof. I bought new gutters they came out to fix something and scratched up all my new gutters they finally replaced all my new gutter guards and didn’t install them properly and after a patch job they made the cooping metal around the chimney causing the water to run into the chimney instead of away and causing water to not go into the gutters which in the long run will ruin my exterior door and the house sill. It’s been a nightmare.Review fromKayla C

Horrible business practices! Negative stars or no stars should be a rating. They use subcontractors and don't tell you that. The one they sent us had absolutely no identification on his truck, trailer, or clothing, did not speak English, did not provide a time window for service, showed up before normal business hours with no notice, went on our roof without even notifying us he was there (no knock on the front door, no introducing himself, nothing!)!!! I called the company for an explanation and while I was on the phone the roofer got in his truck and left. The sales rep said he agreed the roofer did a terrible job and had been fired, and that they would send someone else out to take care of it, because they "stood behind their work". They sent the exact same subcontractor back!!! Again, no notice! I told him to get off my roof and off my property, and that I had been told he was fired. I called demanding to speak to management. I got told lies, excuses, and was given the run around. Fearing for my families safety and being treated with such an unprofessional nature, I was ready to call cops and a lawyer. All the company did was have the manager come over, spend about 15 minutes doing touch ups on the roof, and take 5% off the bill. Are you kidding me! Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Guy Roofing! They are expensive, extremely unprofessional, and will take advantage of customers. Jonathan was the sales rep who lied through his teeth, Brad was his supervisor who made excuses for him, and Derrick was the Operation Mgr who made excuses for the subcontractor and ultimately did nothing to offer good customer service or apologies for the terrible situation. The BBB review doesn't allow for enough characters on their reviews to more thoroughly explain all that went wrong in this situation, but hopefully my summary gives you a good enough glimpse to know NOT to call Guy Roofing!Guy Roofing, Inc.
