    Date of transaction: major bathroom/bedroom renovation from fall 2020 to early spring 2021 Total cost:$60+k Started having system clogs in June 2022. After a clog led to ceiling damage on the floor below, pulled down ceiling to determine root causes: drain lines run “uphill”; drain lines with too much slope, causing solid waste to drop out of flow and create clogs; wrong size fittings used on toilet, causing leaks. Plumber who did repairs stated that the work should not have passed inspection and was “worst plumbing installation he had seen in 38 years of being a plumber.” Total loss to me: $10,726.26 (loss of rental income, initial damage cleanup, re build of water supply and drain lines, restoration of drywall and painting). In a letter to vendor dated 12/8/2022, I offered to settle with them for 75% of the total. They have not responded to this letter nor to a follow up phone call or email. Not all of the losses are covered by insurance and my deductible is high enough such that a claim does not make sense.
