I would like to make a complaint against HOA Service of Sumter LLC dna Hunters Crossings HOA I received a bill on 28 February 2023 for delinquency for 5 yrs for payments of HOA there have never been a bill sent for five yrs so 570$ was the price tag I never new we had a HOA not once did I receive a bill in 5 yrs so I contacted the HOA and explained this issue and was told to pay the last two years by May 1st I received a letter in the mail today that stated I have to pay the full amount by April 21 or they will start collections. This has to be the most unprofessional HOA so they are collecting money from home owners after an annual assessment for the builders but nothing has ever been done in this community.

In his original complaint, Mr ****** disputed owing HOA fees. His home is part of an Association that has been active since 2015.He purchased the home from Great Southern Homes. Part of their closing package is a HOA statement where the buyer acknowledges that the Association exist and that annual assessments are due. Some how, Mr ******'s purchase was never imputed into the Association database. Prior to August, 2019,( the time that we assumed management of the association) the Association was managed by Ceder Management. When our company performed an audit of the database and compared it to actual homes on the ground in February, it became clear that there was a problem. The property cards at the court house were checked and a account was created for the property. The homeowner, Mr Motely, was then sent a invoice for the annual assessments due for the time that he had been in his home. Note, just the fees were charged, no late fees or penalties.  Instead of contacting our office, he filed a complaint with you. Once we became aware of the complaint, we reached out to Mr ****** on March 5, 2023. We offered a settlement of paying the 2022 and 2023 dues by May 1, 2023.  THIS OFFER IS STILL VALID. Today, he has filed another complaint.  WHY, because he received an auto-generated past due notice (sent to all of our past due accounts) concerning the delinquent account. He also sent us 2 emails and 2 phone calls today. In the first call, he just rambled about receiving a past due notice and said that we would be hearing from the BBB and hung up. In a later call he remained silent long enough that we could identify who he was, what association he belonged to and could communicate to him that the past due notice received was autogenerated. We told him that the settlement offer was still valid as long as it was paid by May 1, 2023. At that time, the remainder of the charges would be waived.  In The Declaration of Conditions, Covenants and Restrictions for the Hunters Crossing Subdivision, recorded in 2008, it states that by acceptance of the deed, the homeowner agrees to be bound by the terms of the Declaration and the rules of the Association. We stand that the offer made to Mr ****** was more than generous. All he has to do is pay the settlement offer by May 1, 2023 and he will be good to go. We try to work with each and every homeowner in the associations that we manage. However, if they chose to complain to the BBB before that contact us with an issue it is difficult .
