I hired Barnes Contractors to re-tile the shower in my primary bathroom, re-use the custom glass already in place for the shower, and replace numerous plumbing fixtures. They said the job would take three days (started Sept. 11th); it ultimately took them over a week just to tile the shower, which ended on Thursday Sept. 19th. Upon completion of the tile work, I noticed a few issues: 1) tile was not set straight on the edges of the shower, 2) the ledge of the shower faces outward, so water will drain off onto the floor, 3) they didn't lay down any paper, which caused staining of my wood floors and cabinets in the bathroom and bedroom, 4) after a week of the tile being down and grout settling, I was able to turn the shower water on, and the floor is not pitched so that the water drains toward the center - it pools around the outside of the drain. On top of all of these issues, due to Barnes Contractors placing the custom shower glass outside & not coming to install them when they said they were going to (Monday Sept. 23rd), the shower glass door was shattered by a different company who was resurfacing a deck in my backyard. After many attempts of trying to work with Barnes Contractors to fix the issues noted above and come up with a workable solution to replace the custom shower glass door and fix the uneven tile in a timely manner, they have become non-responsive and unwilling to complete the job. Now I am going to have to bring in a new company to replace tile on the floor, fix the slope of the flooring, purchase new tile and retile the floor, fix the tile along the edges of the shower, purchase a new piece of custom glass for the door, refinish the floors and paint the cabinets that are stained from Barnes Contractors lackluster work, & more. At this point, I don't have faith Barnes Contractors will finish the job in a timely, professional, and workmanlike manner, so I would like a refund to be issued for what I've paid.
