I was initially extremely happy with my experience, I felt comfortable purchasing the vehicle based on what was explained to me when I was purchasing it. I was never given the option to have it inspected, nor offered a warranty, I may have missed it while I was being rushed through the paperwork if there was anything available. I understand buying as is, I get vehicles break down, and stuff happens, but one doesn’t expect a $**** repair bill before they even make their first car payment, less than 3 weeks after purchase and I have to replace at least 3 brake lines. I made the dealer aware of it, no offer to help at all, not even an apology. Just an explanation that his own truck has broken down, and that it was a used car and that things would need to be replaced. Then he just got more unprofessional from there.

All our vehicles go through a full inspection and issues get fixed. We keep records of all the work that was done. We offer these records to customers if they ask. We couldn't a warranty financed on Chris' vehicle. He can buy a warranty at any time out of pocket if he chooses. We can't foresee future issues that arise after the truck leaves the lot. It could be a day it could be 5 years but something will break down unfortunately especially on used vehicles. I did offer Chris a solution on how I can help him on this issue that would of paid the entire bill and put $*** in his pocket, but he refused. I wish him the best of luck and am sorry this happened to him.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The option the dealership offered was me to finance an additional $****, and they would give me the $**** in cash. They lose not even a penny, and I pay more in finance charges. They never told me the brakes were inspected and worn. They were deceptive by telling me what they knew was wrong or fixed, and hiding the big repair they knew I should at least have been made aware of. They knew if they told me the brakes were worn, they would have lost the sale. They have deceptive business practices.

      Sincerely,

      Christopher ******

What Chris is saying is wrong. I told him twice so he understood. I never told him to finance $***** more. I told him to go to his bank and get a bank check for the total amount he has financed not a penny more and I would give him $***** back for repairs. He would NOT be financing any more than he already is. I’m offering him a way to give him $***** for repairs that won’t cost him a cent more and he refused. Vehicle was inspected, fixed what needed to be fixed and sold AS IS. If break lines aren’t leaking or broke when the vehicle is sold and break after the truck leaves the lot that is neither the mechanic nor the dealer’s fault. I’m offering him a solution to give him $**** for repairs and $*** in his pocket as a solution that he’s not taking. That’s way better than most dealerships would do.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The dealership readily said that is an option, knowing my credit history, and knowing that going to a bank and getting another loan is not possible. He told me to get another loan, which is not possible and he knows that. He knows that they had one option for me, one chance tk get the sale. He did not disclose the fact that the brakes were worn, and he knew they were. They admitted that they had the vehicle inspected, and they were aware the brakes were worn, and this was never disclosed to me. His option does not come at a cost to him at all, he is not taking any accountability for the fact they sold me a vehicle that they knew had brakes they should have at a minimum told me were worn. ***** ** ****** ******** **** ** *** *** ***** **** * ******** ** ****** *** *** **** ******* And it is not true that most dealerships would not do anything. Most dealerships, if they have a customer with a major repair, 2 weeks from purchase, will pay for a portion of the repair, if not all. They never disclosed that the brakes were worn, but he had no problem letting me know that the check engine light was only caused by an evap leak, most likely the gas cap. He was quick to provide answers for what I could see was wrong, he withheld material information that would have caused me to not purchase the vehicle. My concern is deceptive business practices. They knew the brakes were worn, and never told me, but made it appear they were being transparent by being forthcoming with the items that were visibly apparent, but withheld items that were not visible. This is a lack of ethics, and their response, was less than professional, and showed no concern. The option he offered, he knows is not possible, and comes at no cost to him. It is litterally him telling me to find another loan so he can get every cent he already has, knowing they had one vehicle they could get financed for me, by one lender. It wasn’t that I chose this vehicle out of a lineup- I was told by the dealership, this was the only option when I was purchasing. Knowing I was putting every penny I had into the down payment, the dealers knew I would likely not purchase, and knowingly withheld Information they know would have cost them the sale.

      Sincerely,

      Christopher ******

He never asked about the brakes until after he bought it. We keep mechanic records of everything. So if a customer asks for them we either show them the report or give them a copy. Almost every vehicle sold doesn't have new brakes on them and are worn. Most vehicles have worn brakes that aren't new. If they are worn to the point where they need to be replaced, then we replace them. We don't replace worn brakes that have life left on them. No mechanic would recommend that. I asked Chris if he could get a co-sginer to get a loan and he's not telling the truth about that either. He just wants to slander our name and not tell the whole truth because he had an unseen, unfortunate issue happen with his vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because:

      I have not been untruthful

about anything. A co-signer is not a possibility, it wasn’t then, it isn’t now. If a co-signer had been a possibility, I wouldn’t have gone there in the first place. I would have gone with a big, reputable dealership. My point is, he was very clear with small visible items they had inspected. That lead me to believe he told me the whole story, had he mentioned they had inspected the brakes and fount them to be worn, I would have not purchased. * **** ******** ******** ******** **** ****** ** ******** *** *** ** *** **** ******** ** ****** ***** ***** **** **** *********** Misrepresentation by omission is still lying. He omitted the fact they had found the brakes worn, but was clear about a gas cap needing to be replaced, causing a check engine light. Was clear about the gas gauge being broken. The paint they had done to stop rust. When someone is forthcoming with that type of information, it leads you to believe they are being trustworthy and truthful. He was just buying my trust , and omitted relevant facts. No, I didn’t ask about the brakes before purchase, I never thought I would have to because they appeared to be telling me everything they knew, they were just telling me the small things I would see, to get the sale. ***** ****** ******* **** **** **** ********** *** * ********** ** ***** *****

There's roughly 30,000 parts on a vehicle and on a used vehicle almost all of those parts are worn. We aren't going to go through every part that is worn. We would go through what was worn to the point of needing to be replaced and what was replaced on a vehicle when asked. You didn't ask about what was done on the vehicle until three weeks later or asked to bring it to your mechanic for a second opinion. We would have no problem with them. We have one of the most reputable mechanics in town that is very thorough. I guess I don't understand why you are stuck on the brakes being worn when you told me you had a brake line that broke and that's why your brakes went out. That had nothing to do with the brakes not being brand new.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

the brake line was rusted through. Not broken. I purchased my vehicle 3/27. I made you aware of the issue on 4/11. That is slightly over 2 weeks between purchase and when you were made aware of the issue.

you omitted the fact that the brakes were worn. You very openly told me a list of minor things, omitting the major thing that you were aware of being worn. A reputable dealership, an honest dealership would have said oh, besides the gas cap issue we told you about, besides the gas gauge being broken, besides the paint being painted to stop rust, our mechanic also found the brakes were worn. I was given a story about how this truck was so well taken care of, he wanted so much money the dealership thought he was crazy til they saw the condition of the truck. I was without having to ask given a list of the things the dealership knew was wrong. Why would I then ask, is there anything else you know about that is worn? No, if someone says this this this and this are wrong. You think they are being honest and transparent, why would anyone say ok, I know you told me about these things. But is there anything else you know about? It does don’t make sense?

the other problem was the dealerships response. Never an apology until the apology in the bbb response. Not to mention him telling me to grow up. That has already cost him business. ******* * **** ********* * ******* **** * ***** ********** ***** ****** * **** **** *** * ***** ***** **** *** **** *** ********** ****** **** ***** ** ** ***** *** ********** ***** **** *** *** ***** ****** ***** ****** The only offer of assistance I received, was to go out and find ANOTHER loan so I could bring the dealership a check for $**** more than they got from the current loan, and then he would give me back $****. If a bank loan was ever possible, he wouldn’t have gotten my money in the first place. He also told me straight out to lie to the finance company about the down payment amount. That right there, is a lack of ethics. He told me to lie to the finance company who has my loan. ***** *** ******** ****** ******* ***** **** ********** ***** **** ** ******* They omitted relevant facts that they knew, that had I known at purchase, I would not have bought the vehicle. They are good at pretending to be trustworthy to get peoples trust and then sell them a vehicle they are aware of issues. The attorney general is also currently reviewing my complaint as well.

      Sincerely,

      Christopher ******
