  We ordered nine windows from ABC. We (my wife and I) spent about an hour with the salesman at our home, detailing exactly what windows we wanted, including the 3" PVC trim we wanted around the windows as opposed to the 3" brick moulding. We showed the salesman our patio doors and the way they were trimmed and told him we wanted all nine windows to match our patio doors. He understood and said that this would not be a problem. We signed the contract and unfortunately I made the error of not reading it completely and did not notice that he had copy and pasted 3" brick moulding as the trim. This was my error in not double checking or questioning this discrepancy. But as the owner of ABC told me on January 3rd, the contract is "ironclad" and they would easily win in court if we challenged it and basically intimated that they would sue me if I did not agree with them. I played a recording of a meeting I had with their salesman after I had complained that the wrong windows were installed. The salesman came to my house literally with $700 cash in hand from his own pocket to pay me, as he knew he had screwed up in communicating our order with whomever was responsible for ordering the windows from the factory. I told him I did not want his money, but did want an adjustment from ABC, which they were unwilling to give me. About a week after install someone from ABC came out to see if I had any concerns. I showed him numerous areas of damage to the window frames which he had an employee pound back in with a hammer and putty knife which still did not repair the damage to the vinyl. There were also damaged screens which they still have not repaired and likely have no intention of replacing. I pointed out numerous joints which were missing adequate caulking as well. It appears that in ABC's zeal to do as many installs as possible in a week, that they cut corners and are in too much of a hurry which results in damage to the windows, siding and interior trim and screens.

  Hi Steve,
  When our consultant originally met with you, he had the understanding you wanted a 3" exterior trim, which was detailed out in your contract as 3" brickmould. While we installed the windows as specified on your contract, you expressed to the consultant you were unhappy with your exterior trim. He tried to understand where the confusion came from and attempted to resolve the issue himself by compensating the brickmould upgrade personally. We agreed this was not the proper way to handle the situation. We're happy we've since been able to resolve this issue and as we've stated previously will take care of any outstanding items you have. We truly care about each homeowner we work with and their experience with us and appreciate your business.
