I'm having an issue with being overcharged by $80 at Bargain Hunt in Athens. I have emailed their customer service multiple times, and I have made MANY calls. I have even gone to the store in person (30 minutes away) only to be told that someone higher than the manager would have to help me. I asked the shift manager to view the security cameras to confirm my story, but she said they don't have access. A note was left for the store manager to call me, but she hasn't. The issue is with an incorrect price on an item that I purchased. I was at the Athens, TN store on 5/6/2024. My teen and I put two refurbished air conditioners into our carts. One was the largest portable air conditioner I could find. The other was a much smaller window unit. (It should be noted that ALL of the units are in generic boxes with basic information on the front.) When we got to the register, the portable unit scanned fine ($299). Meanwhile, the window unit didn't scan. None of the barcodes were correct. The woman helping us was sweet and tried to look the item up with no luck. In the end, she asked how much the units were, I told her that they varied on the shelf, but the tags I could see ranged from $119 to something like $139. She asked how $119 sounded. I agreed. I didn't pay attention to the fact that our total was more than it should have been because I was thinking about how we'd be able to get them into our vehicle. It wasn't until I was reviewing my accounts 2 days later that I realized we'd been overcharged by $80. The woman helping us apparently keyed in $199 instead of $119. (It is also listed as a "*********" AC unit on the receipt, though the actual unit is **. I'm guessing she just had to make a random selection to get it to ring up.) However, due to the way she rang it up, I can't even bring the product back in for return without confirmation from someone. I have tried every method of communication-- even messages on ******** and comments on their ads. NOBODY will help me.
