      Visited the 40033 area code location. This company was paid their prior loan. Was denied extent of what I asked for. Poor relations resulted in phone calls to higher management. End result was contacted by their “vp” which the conversation soured and ended with the person who called me attempting to insult my child.

      Cash Express prides itself on good customer service. In Kentucky, state law limits how much we can loan a person, and they have implemented mechanisms to prevent lenders like us from exceeding those limits. Due to these restraints, we are unable, at times, to satisfy a customer’s request, and this was one of those times. Unfortunately, we could not explain it to this customer to his liking.

      This company is a legal criminal organization. They gave my mother in law a title loan that she has no hopes of ever being able to pay off. She’s been paying them $300 a month and what she owes keeps going up. I went over the paper work and it says. $385 a month in fees? She had no idea . She’s on a fixed income. These people are not helping anyone. Just stealing from low income families. We are dealing with one in elizabethton, TN. I would give zero stars to these thieves!!

      Cash Express offers small-dollar, short-term loans. We only charge loan fees that are allowed by state law. A customer who comes to one of our stores and requests a loan does so voluntarily, and the loan transaction is thoroughly explained by store personnel. The customer is fully aware of the terms of the loan and receives a copy of all the disclosures and agreements they sign.

      Went last Saturday with paperwork to show we owned the business and it was closed in 2022. Was told everything looked good. They couldn't verify the check because banks were closed. Took time off from work and they verified check was good but now they wouldn't process it because business license wasn't active. Who would have an active business license on a closed business? Why not tell us last week instead of wasting our time?The twit from corporate or whomever made the decision lost them $$$. The local ladies were great.

      We apologize for the misinformation. We should not have led you to believe that “everything looked good” on your first visit. We do not accept expired business licenses to cash checks. If the expiration of the license had been noticed then, we could have saved you the extra hassle. Other documentation would have been required to prove your claim as the rightful payees of the check. Again, we apologize, and if you ever give Cash Express another chance, we will endeavor to do better next time.

      I submitted a complaint on 2/21/23 concerning a situation that was handled incorrectly. UPDATE as of 2/28/23: I was contacted by the district manager, Misty, who informed me that they are refunding me the amount of my check, since my situation was handled incorrectly. I went to the store, picked up my check, and they let me cash it for free at the store. I do appreciate them rectifying my situation.

      They are a loan shark company operating under a llc. They loan money at a ridiculous interest rate to lower income families whom are unable to ever pay the loan off as 90% of the payments go directly to their profit margin. They also make it next to impossible to pay on the principle. They use some type of In-House attorney to send out very threatening letters to force people into paying their ridiculous amounts. On a $1,000 Flex loan I paid this company $3,331. I informed them that I wasn't paying them any more money and I wanted to go to the arbitration instead I got a very threatening letter from a so-called Legal Assistant and told that I will be taken to court even though arbitration is in the contract I signed with them they still want me to pay them $591 as of today's date. I personally believe it is illegal in the state of Tennessee to charge the interest thay charge but no lawmaker has taken the time to look into it.

      We are saddened to read such a review.  Cash Express strives to provide great service to all its customers.  While we can’t discuss the particulars of your account in a public forum, we make the following general statements regarding your concerns:

      ·         Interest rates on flex loans are set by the laws of the State of Tennessee.  We do not arbitrarily determine those.
      ·         Payments are applied to outstanding fees and interest due first and the remainder to principal.  This is typically true of any loan received from any lender.
      ·         On any open-end credit loan like a flex loan, a borrower should make more than the minimum payment due in order to pay down the outstanding balance more quickly.
      ·         If arbitration is the route you choose to resolve this matter, it is certainly your right to do so and our agreement by contract.  However, you must follow the terms of the contract regarding the initiation of arbitration.  Please refer to your contract documents.  If you cannot locate your copy, we can provide you with one.

      This company locked me inside their building while the called a tow truck to come block me in. I have left messages regarding the sale of my vehicle with no call back , criminal charges were file, they did not even offer me an apology very unprofessional, and violated civil rights. Looking into civil suit. And the employee is still employed.
