Our family paid for our dogs to be cared for 10 days. Upon picking up our dogs, we were told that one of our dogs had been isolated in a room for 10 days straight. They also told us that my dog was weird upon arrival and that she refused to eat the entire time . They said they needed me to go to the room to get her. I did and she looked terrible. She reeked of urine and I just got her out of there. I got her in the car, she was so badly overheated she could barely breathe and we feared she wouldn’t make it home. Everytime she drank water she threw it up. It took two hours of us trying to cool her down to get her breathing back to a somewhat normal rhythm. She had lost 4-5 pounds which is 10 percent of her body weight. (She is a small dog) We also noted that the canned food we gave was not given to her daily as requested. (We had 9 cans that were never used and there should have only have been 4 extra in case they needed it) So they didn’t even give her fresh canned food in the morning and at dinner time during her entire stay. Her bed and toys were urine soaked. When we asked why they suggested that she attempted to bite And we were shocked because the only thing that we’ve ever seen from our Boston terrier was her trying to lick attack. Jumping to lick hands and faces) Anybody who owns Boston terrier knows exactly what I’m talking about. She is also turning 10 and losing her vision. We had nine people comment on how much weight she had lost in 10 days. We also recorded and videotaped her breathing for evidence if needed. When I asked why she was overheating they said they didn’t let her out the entire time so they don’t know. We paid for our dogs to be walked, put in two separate kennels that has both indoor and outdoor time, have their nails done, have a fecal test, and to be fed twice a day. What we got was neglect both physically and mentally. Food was withheld. There was no calls to us during her stay. The staff were rude. Please protect your dogs.
