I purchased a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro-X model on November 30th, 2024 from this dealership. When purchasing the vehicle I made it clear I was not willing to purchase the vehicle unless the total value of my trade was paid in full. I was assured by the dealer *****, and manager *** that my loan would be fully paid off, as well as the the guy in finance who had helped me. They initially offered $10,000 for the vehicle trade to which I did not oblige. The amount agreed upon trade was roughly $14,900. After we struck a deal they went behind me and changed it back to $10,000 on trade-in and I was not made aware of this change until my first bank statement came through in the mail. I have tried to discuss this issue with them in person as well as over the phone and was basically talked to like a was an idiot and told that they had no choice to do that price because they would’ve lost money on the vehicle (like that’s my problem). I have also tried getting assistance through Nissan Consumer Affairs and they told me that there was nothing they could do because this is a privately owned dealership. I’ve also been told by them multiple times that a resolution would be reached and they would contact me, to which they never did. Furthermore, as he told me he had to take that price on the car after the fact so he wouldn’t lose money, he still listed the trade-in above what I was even asking. Also, during the initial test drive of the vehicle, the dealer offered to “smoke me out” with his thc pen, to which I then had to ask him personally not to hit that in the vehicle I wanted to purchase. After about 2 months of dealing with this now, I still have not received contact from them as promised and no resolution has been met as of February 11th, 2025. Overall, a very unprofessional and scammy business model on their end.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Johnson city Nissan on Saturday Feb 1 2025. Before looking at the vehicle it was discussed and agreed we needed a vehicle in low 20s. The salesman ***** went to get a 2024 Honda HRV before he brought it around he said the price was low 20s I asked what that meant he said 24k. I agreed and the vehicle was brought to front to be looked at. We like the vehicle as we were understanding it was 24000. Agreed on payment terms credit approval and took delivery of vehicle same day. I looked at the bill of sale the following day only to realize the price of vehicle on bill of sale was 28k and put us at financing 27k after 5k down in total before down payment was 32k approx. called dealership on Monday and told them the issue salesman said he would look into it and return my call. Never returned my call. I called back and was directed to finance manager who stated he didn’t know what we agreed to prior to coming into his office but stated he would get in touch with me. He did return my call and stated he saw on paper where we signed on scrap paper for 24k however there was a reconditioning fee that was never mentioned or amount told included on the paper. He stated he didn’t know what was done to vehicle when they took it in on trade prior besides possibly new tires. I’m looking to get at least part of the reconditioning fee returned as these fee was not discussed in over all price of car and I’m not really getting any help from dealership besides finance member Dean. Multiple attempts with them only stating they would return my call never to happen.Initial Complaint

My husband and I built a vehicle online from the main Nissan website. After building it, it gives you a certificate and the dealership that had that vehicle and a QR code. We called the dealership and sent them the certificate and all the screenshots office of the break down of pricing and everything. The said that they could not honor that price which was $21,224, this is from the certificate that stated this was the purchase price. The price they said is $26,959 plus taxes, fees, etc. and said that they cannot sell the vehicle for that price. They are claiming that it was a computer error. They were no other rebates clicked on our end. After spending two days, talking to 5-6 different people including managers, I was told that there was nothing that they could do or would do and that if I didn't want to pay the $26.959 plus that I should go somewhere else. They did a total bait and switch. They are terrible people to deal with and are not friendly or helpful at all. Be warned!Business response

The Complainee configured a vehicle on Nissan USA website; however, the configured unit did not correspond to the actual unit in the franchisee inventory. The inventoried unit has different equipment and the price is different. This was explained; however, any unwanted bad news makes the person delivering the news just as bad. We are in business to sell vehicles to the entire general public and if the unit could have been sold at the requested price, then we would have delightfully complied. The Complainee was offered a more that fair purchase price but declined the offer.Initial Complaint

I am filing a complaint because Johnson city Nissan lied to me and tried to deceive me multiple times within two days when trying to purchase a vehicle from them. Upon texting and talking with a salesman I was told a vehicle I was purchasing was on their lot for right at ***, when we got to the dealership they then tried to say the vehicle was selling for *** and after we told them the vehicle only booked for *** they changed their price to ***, I was fine with that but when we went back the second day (we was waiting for proof of a payoff on a totaled vehicle) they then changed the price of the vehicle to *** which was ** more than we had originally agreed on. Once in the finance office we was told the salesman just said that the vehicle would be *** to get us into the finance office. They lied about the price of the vehicle and the payments. The original payment and what we agreed on was supposed to have been **** but somehow the payments ended up being almost **** every month. I have text messages from the dealership telling me how much the lot price for the car was and then they added ** to it once we got there. I just hope that the dealership will do the right thing and help me to get a resolution as I can’t afford a payment that high and they lied to me about the payment on the vehicle. I did not know this until I left the car lot and called them back to have them explain why the payments was higher than we agreed on when we was in the finance office. They also said they was offering a promotion where they would take ** off the asking price (I have text messages showing they said that) which they also did not honor. There’s multiple of the same exact complaint on this dealership for the same thing. I do not under any circumstances believe they are honest with their customers and they should not be allowed to treat people the way they do.Business response

All customers are disclosed all purchase information before they make a buying decision. They are disclosed all terms including purchase price, trade value, down payment, monthly payment, interest rate, amount to finance and term of the loan. This information is disclosed in multiple documents during the purchase process. This information is very transparent including the price and especially the monthly payment. All of the terms are mutually agreed upon before any customer takes delivery of a vehicle and we are forthright with all financial purchase disclosures. The customer agreed upon a monthly payment and signed contract paperwork to indicate agreement. We are honest and diligent in providing transparency.Initial Complaint

Johnson City TN Nissan is mailing out circulars for something called moneyopoly. On the circular is a code as well as peel back tabs that indicates if you have won a cash prize - mine was for ***** there is another for ********** and another I forget what it was. I called the number on the circular that got a salesman at Johnson city Nissan on the line. I told him I had won the ***** dollar prize and he asked me for the code that was on the form and congratulated me and told me to come in for my prize. I drove there with the circular along with my drivers license that proved to them that I was at the address the circular was mailed to. They took down all the information on my TN driver's license when I arrived at the dealership. I was agressively pummeled by several salesmen trying to sell me a car. Because I had been led to believe I won a ***** in cash I was tolerant of them despite me telling them many times that I was happy with the car I had and I did not want to buy another car. finally after about 2 hours of them trying to convince me to buy a car from them they gave up and then gave me my 'prize'. it was some earphones for a cell phone worth maybe ****** at most. They explained to me that even though the peel back on the circular stated that I had won a ***** cash prize that the code on the form combined with that meant I was only eligable for the wireless ear plugs. Then it became apparent to me the whole thing was a big con game. It reminded me of the vaccum cleaner salesman that invades a homeowner's privacy and then puts his foot in the door when they try to get rid of him only its worse because I went to the expense to drive to the Johnson City Nissan dealer. I gave everything about the circular over the phone to them before I drove there - I gave them the peel back info that stated I had won a ***** in cash and I gave the the code printed on the form. ths text box chopped off much of the message I wanted to send to you. I have emailed it.Business response

The advertisement clearly states that to redeem any prize, the mailer must be brought into the dealership during regular business hours. It also clearly states the confirmation code that is on the mailer determines the prize awarded. The confirmation code is matched to the prize board at the dealership. We make sure to print the rules in a bigger and bolder font that is asked of us as to not have issues with confusion. All of the prizes are insured and we have had two grand prize winners of ******. We hope to have more in the future. *** ******** is asking for a refund. This is not possible as we have not received any funds from *** ******** to refund.Initial Complaint

On 10/28/2022 approx 12:30pm, I was informed by Johnson City Nissan salesman on what I needed to do in order to purchase a vehicle. I wasn't sure if that was legal and how the process went, and they said I would be okay doing it that way. On 10/29/2022 approx 6:30am, I found out I would not be fine. I could possibly end up owing over $20,000 , sued, possibly have my wages garnished or even have to file bankruptcy. I return the vehicle on 10/29/2022 approx 10:30 am (less than 24 hrs) and informed them of the false information I was given, and i was flat out lied to. They told me there was nothing they could do. They couldn't help me now. And I would have to do the best I could. I am really hoping you can help me.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/11/15) */ Mr. ***** was given his purchase options based upon his credit situation and what terms of finance that the bank would extend to him. During his visit, he was adamant about not letting his wife know what his payment was. This is a case of buyer's remorse. Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/11/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Johnson City Nissan is lying again. First, my wife was by my side the whole time, and contrary to what they said, I DO NOT keep things from my wife. Especially a major purchase as this. Second, the price that was agreed upon was changed without my knowing, or being told. Therfore, this is not a case of "buyers remorse" . This is a case of misinformed, scammed, and trickery by a major car dealership and salesman at Johnson City Nissan. When I realized what they had done, and confronted them, their response was simply, "Nothing we can do. It's your car now.". A response one would not have expected from a dealership such as this. Because of their action, I will soon be forced to file bankruptcy. Which could have been avoided, if Johnson City Nissan would have been an honest and fair dealership. A simple contract void would have solved this, but instead, it's going to be lawyers and court.Initial Complaint

I received a flier in the mail stating I had won one thousand dollars and their was no purchase necessary. I needed to come down to Johnson City Nissan and claim my prize. My husband and I drove from Kingsport to Johnson City and as soon as we exited the vehicle a salesman named ***** **** approached us and asked what we were looking for today. I stated that we were there due to the flier and to collect the prize. ***** escorted us into the dealership and had us sit at a table. He went to get a paper that I assumed was for the prize claim. He started to ask us questions about our desired vehicle. I stated that we were only there for the flier. He said it was a " two **** process to get the prize." So, we answered his questions. He asked about income, debt etc. I did not want to buy a vehicle and he asked for my social and my ID. He once again stated that it was a "two **** process" and that we had to do this before he could get the prize. so, I answered the rest of his questions. He took my ID said " I'll be right back" and walked out of sight. We assumed he was going to get the prize. He did not come back. Then, the manager said that Jason had a vehicle pulled up for us to look at and we were escorted outside. I made why we were there clear from the beginning and they began to get hateful and pushy saying that he had " found the vehicle." My husband saw a sign for the prizes that said our number had to match the dealerships number in order to claim the prize and ours did not match. They had no intention of telling us. They kept pushing and said we had to do a test drive. I said no. They both threw their hands in the air and walked inside the building muttering as they went. We were shocked. I have never been treated as horribly I was here. We left and I started to get notifications that a hard inquiry was made on my credit. We called they refuse to pull the hard inquiry using the paper of questions against me even though I my credit was ran under false pretense.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/10/10) */ Mrs. ***** gave authorization to have her credit information disclosed by her signature. The signed document expressly states "I hereby authorizer dealer to obtain credit information to expedite my purchase and to see if I qualify for special programs.". Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/10/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As you notice they refer to me as Mrs. ***** and not Mrs. ****** which is my legal name. The form that was filled out was filled out for the sole purpose of the alleged prize of 1000 dollars. He kept repeating that it was a "two **** process" and we had to answer the questions for the prize. I was taken advantage of. I have multiple sclerosis and documented cognitive impairment. The flier to which we were trying to claim the prize was in my ex husband's name. ***** ******** That is not my legal name but that was the name on the flier and I even gave the salesman an expired unvalid ID that said ******* just to prove it was me for the prize because I had no intention whatsoever of buying a vehicle which we stated as soon as we got there. I remarried in 2018 and ****** has been my legal name ever since. My valid driver's license says ***** ******. The paper your salesman has says ***** as well as the ID. If he had taken two seconds he would have realized it was not valid and that he had NO authorization to run my credit because I had a feeling with all the questions that is was false advertising. The signature on the form does not even match the ID because I was afraid that they would try to run my credit but catch that it was not valid. They did not care. They did not listen. I don't think he even looked. They were merely interested in pushing me to buy a vehicle. No matter how many times I said no the more he would push and get more hateful and his manager was just as bad. They were so pushy and intimidating that I lied to get away from the salesman saying that I would come back the next day which I had no intention of doing but I needed to leave. I am disabled.I have PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic disorder all are listed on my disability forms. The salesman was not only pushy but aggressive and I reacted with flight not fight. I do not accept your response.Johnson city Nissan and ***** **** railroaded me to the point of a panic attack and I was so upset when we left I had to pull over and let my husband drive because I was physically ill and felt like I would black out. You can not treat people this way just to sell vehicles and it speaks to the reputation that you already have online and no accreditation from the BBB that your sales tactics are unprofessional and flat out rude. I just want the inquiry pulled from my credit and I will never come back. This should not be hard. If necessary I do have a lawyer. Do the right thing and pull the inquiry. Please. You have no idea what you've done. I'm getting around the clock calls from mortgage lenders to refinance my home I already refinanced in 2019. It is extremely stressful and causes issues with my anxiety. Please I can't do this anymore. Please pull the inquiry.Initial Complaint

Purchased a new 2022 frontier. The paperwork stated the truck had 59 miles, but it had 4981 miles. I realized when the oil change sticker stated the change was scheduled at 9981 miles, and my friend whom also purchased a new frontier had a sticker for 5001 miles. Purchase date was March 12th, and I have been trying to get in contact with them since I realized the error on March 22nd. Today, April 18th, I got in contact with the general sales manager, and their resolution was to just give me 2 extra years of maintenence. I tried to ask if we could work out an exchange, but they said that would not be a possibility. They overcharged me severely for the trucking it were actually a new truck anyway, but I just considered it a learning experience until learning of the odometer discrepancy. I'm willing to negotiate an exchange for another vehicle I they are, but would just like to cancel the deal all together if not.
