I hired Absolute Mountain Property for repairs in my home after a flood. Flood occurred on 10/22/23. Contract was signed 12/21/22. This was an extensive repair of my home including 3 levels, a bathroom, kitchen, flooring, dry wall. We have had several issues with poor craftsmanship from the work. We have had issues with new flooring coming up, tiles breaking, grout cracking, and tiles that need to be replaced in our new flooring. We also had a leak from the new shower that was installed. This new shower has been laying in my bedroom floor since 9/16/23. He has refused to acknowledge or attempt to repair any of the issues in the home. It has also come to my attention that he is not licensed to install gas lines. He installed a gas line in my home and did not file for a permit with Knox County. He also did electrical work in my home without a licensed electrician verifying the work and without permits.

****** ****** is the contractor they requested to finish the job and he has accepted fault for the shower. I offered to fix the grout and ****** only solution he would accept was to tear all the tile out and replace it
**** didn’t work for me prior to this job. He was the cabinet installer and they liked his work. ******** requested him to finish the job so I agreed and transferred the remainder of job funds to him and let him do it.
After the leak in the shower they (****** ****** and team) took shower out that they installed and apparently wouldn’t let them put it back in because a tile “came loose” up there After they pulled it back out. ****** has admitted fault to me and to **** as I have it in text message. This was submitted to my insurance company and it was denied. I have all screenshots of the other contractor admitting fault. I would be happy to supply them.

The only electrical work that was done under our business and charged for was resetting light fixtures and range hood and minor electrical that does not require permits. **** was responsible for any other permits as our company did not charge him for any extensive permit required electrical work.

As for the gas line, the ****** were responsible for any permits for that. They bought a gas stove instead of electric due to their preference. All anyone from our team did was hook up the gas line to the stove in which we did not invoice or charge the ****** for. Main Gas lines were already existing in the house.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The response is inaccurate. Mr. ***** ran a gas line from our main gas connection approximately 30 feet in my home. When I asked about a gas permit or inspection I was told I didn’t need one because he is a licensed contractor.
Mr. ***** has refused on multiple occasions to fix the floor. It isn’t a grout issue. The grout is cracked and the tiles are coming loose. They move when you walk on them. I have videos and pictures to show this. These have been provided to Mr. *****. I asked he come to look at the tiles on multiple occasions. He did not. We have had two contractors look at the floor and recommend replacement. This has been discussed with Mr. ***** on multiple occasions. It was also brought to his attention by Mr. ****** who recommended replacement of the tiles.  He was told that Mr. ***** refused to pay to have it replaced.
We had issues with every aspect of his work. We had to have dry wall redone. Trim had to be replaced and corrected. The shower was originally installed by Mr. *****, however it was floating off the floor and had to be replaced. The electrical work he did had to be reinstalled as well. There was nothing works on in our home that did not require some correction.
The claim filed with his insurance company was due to liability concerns with the unlevel tile work to attempt to get this corrected. They refused to cover it. I have attempted every avenue to try to get our home fixed short of litigation.
Mr. ****** came in to work on the cabinets. He is not a contractor. He was hired by Mr. ***** as a subcontractor. I’m not sure if he was ever paid for his work. ****** found ****** work to be unacceptable and helped us to get the repairs completed.
    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
