I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the purchase of a 2013 Nissan Juke from Africa motor company dealership on February 19, 2024. The total cost of the vehicle was approximately $10,000, with a $3,000 down payment. During the test drive, the car exhibited backfiring issues. I was assured by the owner that this was due to faulty spark plugs, which he committed to replace. I returned the next day, and the spark plugs, as well as the car's radio (due to a non-functioning screen), were replaced. On the first day of purchase, I questioned the owner about a leaning tire. He attributed this to the need for an alignment but did not disclose that the car had been in a wreck. I later discovered that the car has a salvage title and a poor Carfax history, contrary to the falsified documentation I signed, which indicated a clean history. Over the past four months, I have incurred expenses exceeding $5,000 in repairs, including the replacement of the rear axle frame, sensors, tires, O2 sensor, and AC recharge, along with new filters and necessary electrical work. Despite keeping the owner informed and providing receipts, he has only offered a $500 discount, which is insufficient given the circumstances. I was reassured multiple times that the issues were minor and fixable, leading me to purchase the vehicle. However, the extent of undisclosed damages and the subsequent repair costs have proven otherwise. It is apparent that the car was not in a drivable condition at the time of sale, violating Tennessee state laws regarding the sale of undrivable vehicles. I request that the dealership takes responsibility for this matter and provides a resolution that reflects the undue burden and costs I have incurred. This may include a full refund, a substantial contribution towards the repair costs, or the provision of a different, roadworthy vehicle.Initial Complaint

October 9, 2023 I purchased a 2013 Nissan Altima for my fiance (*** ******* **e vehicle is in her name. We were told that it had approximately 48k miles and had one previous owner(an elderly lady), and had never been in an accident. We were told that the vehicle has a clean title as well, which we will receive in the mail in 2-4 weeks. We were lied to repeatedly about the title over the next 6 months. Being told that “I just mailed it Monday so it should get to you this week”, “I had the address wrong but it’s on the way now”, etc. Today is 5/10/2024 and I was just given the title today. Which says that the miles are not accurate, it has a salvaged title, and that the car has been wrecked and rebuilt. I went to Rusty Wallace Honda today and spoke with one of their sales people, her name is ***** *********. She reviewed the vehicle and did a background check in order to assess the trade-in value. She learned that despite what we were told at the purchase, it really has over 130k miles on it. She also learned that someone had a lien on the title as recently as February and that African Motor Company only received the title in April of this year, even though he sold it to me in October of last year. They lied to me and my finance about every single detail of this car and took $9000 of our hard earned money for a car that has less than $1000 in value. Its just wrong to do someone like this.Initial Complaint

I’m March 5, 2023 I purchased a vehicle ( 2013 Infiniti JX35 ) I put 3700 down cash on the vehicle. They told me the same day that I got the vehicle that in the first few weeks that if anything was wrong with the vehicle they would fix it. The second day March 6, 2023 I took the vehicle to get it checked and the codes ran. The codes showed Catalytic Converter. Ac Leaks and the back tire had damage done. The very next day March 7, 2023 we showed them and told them all of the issues that were wrong, which also included the Ac not working. For a month they kept saying that they would fix it and recharge the ac and I did that and never resolved the issue. Then 3 months go by and I’ve been in the 90 plus degree weather with my 4 children they say that got a AC compressor so I take the vehicle to them. Two days go by and they tell me pick it up and take it to a shop to get it recharged. That did not resolve the issue. They tell me they’ve ordered another part to fix it and have a pending appointment. I reached out them after I bought a carfax because it’s just so much wrong, I informed them that they never told me about the salvaged title and that there was frame damage to the back left rear and tire done. When I explained to them how could we resolve the issue they told me to get a lawyer. And told me they would cancel the appointment for the cars AC compressor to get fixed for the second time. The carfax I received said the severity damage to the car was severe and I was NEVER informed about a salvaged title. This has been the most stressful most unprofessional situation I’ve ever been in and I’ve gave them roughly ****** down that is not ok to just lose I have kids and need a vehicle. This is unacceptable !!!Initial Complaint

I put $1900 down on a car that didn’t even last me 5 hours, I called him to let him know the car was broken down and he says just take him to court when asking for a refund. I don’t want another car, if this one didn’t even last to get me home then I don’t want to try another, I just want my money back to get a car that actually worksInitial Complaint

The business is false advertising about mileage and not being honest about their vehicles. They are putting people's lives at stake due to compromised vehicle safety. Rushing people through paperwork and overcharging for salvaged vehicles. $5700 dollars to someone like me is a huge amount of money to give to dishonest businesses. I suggest taking a lawyer and an insurance appraiser with you to let the seller know that he is doing the public an injustice. To resolve this issue I will only consider returning the vehicle and receiving my money back
