I graduated in May, 2024. and received an email stating that I was all set for graduation, had passed all my classes for my degree and was approved for graduation. Then I received an email from the lady in charge of diplomas and was told that I did not complete my academic assessment, and it is required. Also said I cannot take it until the end of next semester, so as of now I do not show to have graduated until this is done. This is ridiculous, as I was told I was set to graduated and had completed all requirements. I have paid my fees and they need to release my diploma!

************** has not waived his right to his FERPA so we are limited on what information we can give you.  I can let you know that he was sent 8 emails from March to April of 2024 giving him instructions on taking the Assessment, letting him know that a hold was put on his account and what that hold consisted of, and the deadline for the Assessment.  I have an extension on my email that lets me know when they open the email and then how many times each email has been opened since then and he opened each email multiple times, so ************** was aware of what the situation was and how the hold would affect his account.  On May 7th, ************** was emailed from our CAO and told when the next Assessment would be opened and what the time frame would be to receiving his diploma based on when he took the Assessment.  I have also included a screenshot from our Catalog, on page 36, that states, "Complete all required assessment procedures related to the major field and/or the core curriculum no later than the last day of classes for the term in which graduation occurs"  The last day of the Spring 2024 term was April 26, 2024 (this is listed on page 11 of our catalog and attached) and I gave all students until April 30th, 2024 . His degree was conferred for July 30th, after he completed his Assessment that month, and his degree was ordered in August, which we can prove that he was notified of that as well.

If ************** was to waive his FERPA rights, I would be glad to provide screenshots of all emails and account information, showing that we followed procedures and policies and that ************** was provided and received all the necessary information to complete his Assessment in a timely manner and then that we communicated with him about the time line and process of how his diploma would be conferred according to when he took his assessment.
