      Independent bank is a client robber. My **** was compromised and all charges linked to independent bank. **** refunded me all charges. Independent charge $34.00 per charge that overdrafted my account plus a $6.00 daily fee for everyday it was overdraft. By the time I noticed as I dont use this account often I acquired over $250.00 in bank fees and now they will only offer me a complementary of removing 2 overdraft fees. Needless to say come Monday I will be closing my accounts with them after 20 years. Very disappointed in there poor customer service and unwilling to help their customers

      I paid my deceased fathers car off on Oct,23,2024. I live in ***********. I was told that i would receive the title within 14 days. It is December 10th, 2024. I still have not received the title and after multiple calls I have not been able to reach anyone. They keep sending me to this imaginary "Title" deptartment where no one ever answers or where no one calls you back. After ********************************************************************** a # to call, which I did and low and behold, NO ONE answered. I left a message and we will see if he calls back. If your here just reading up wondering if you should take out a loan with this financial institution the answer is a resounding NO!!!!

      We apologize that he experienced a bit of wait time on both calls on December 10, 2024. We are actively taking steps to reduce the contact center wait times. The third-party contact did speak with our collections and customer service agents. The third-party contact was sent to a contact center representatives voicemail but did not leave a message. Since he is not our customer, there was some confusion about handling his unique situation. We determined that the individual who submitted the review is not a customer of ********************** and have requested documentation to verify authorization. The title was released timely to the address we had on file with our customer. We can assume that it has been delayed in the mail. Once the third-party contact provides the legal documentation indicating he is the executor of the estate, we can issue a release of lien. We take these matters seriously, but must verify third party contact authorization as it not only undermines our organizations integrity but could also result in potential harm to our genuine customers. However, we are committed to cooperating fully and ensuring a fair outcome. It would be best if he would work with customer service to get the lost title situation resolved.       I've requested bank account statements that I can't access online. I went to the *************** location and was told I would get them in 2-3 business days.I did not receive them in the time frame I was told. I called the location and informed them I had not yet received them. I was told they would work on it.I've still not received the documents I've requested and this is an urgent matter.

      I had a vehicle financed with this bank for 6 years. During this time my wife received a notice asking her if she would like to take advantage of a payment deferral, she did this 4 times during the 6 years. We have made payments on time during this loan agreement. We received the last payment notice notice this month telling me the end of the loan had come and we owe ******* as a last payment. Our normal payments were ****** per month. They would not extend the loan end date 4 months to let us keep making the 329 payment, that they offered to us with no mention this would happen at the end of the term. We had to pay the ******* out of our savings account to avoid credit issues with this loan. We just thought everyone should know how they do business. Keep up in mind we are customers that were not late on payments and never missed any as well.. the 4 times we deferred the payments, we paid the interest on that monthly payment. I called and ask for them to extend the loan 4 months so we would just keep making the 329 monthly payments and they refused to do this, forcing us to pay the *******. Anyone thinking of using this bank should read my post!

      Dear ****************,We are terribly sorry to hear about your negative experience! A deferment can certainly help out when a customer is in a pinch. However, a customer is under no obligation to take advantage of the deferment. The downside to a deferment is that your interest on the loan continues to accrue, and this can trickle down and balloon your final payment. With each deferment, the bank discloses that a skipped payment will result in higher finance charges. A payoff may also be influenced by payments received after the due date or if there are extraneous fees such as late charges.       I have an auto loan with Independent Bank Memphis TN. My payments are mailed three weeks before they due to avoid a late payment fee and my payments are still late. I have checked the reviews on this Bank and it is a common practice NOT to process your payments until it is past due, in order to collect late fees. If you pay online or on the phone you are charged $15.00 convenience fee. I called Customer Service three times and left three messages. No one has returned my calls yet. This is fraudulent and theft at the highest level.
