    It's been awhile since the incident but my opinion of this company diminished greatly after closing on our home. We weren't able to purchase right away so we paid $10k down that would go towards the buying of the home when we were able to close and rented the home for the time being. Once financing was approved we were able to get 100% financing so the $10k was supposed to be refunded since the entirety of the home cost was included in the loan. When we told the realtor (************) we were getting the $10k back she went off. She informed us they would be taking the property tax out of the $10k they paid while we were renting or we could walk away and they would keep the entire $10k. They ended up keeping roughly $5k for property taxes while we were renting the home which was never part of any earlier agreement. This took place at the mortgage office in public which was extremely embarrassing. The reason I'm posting now is for any renters that work with Rutherford Home Builders / ************ to beware if you are renting with purchasing in mind. The realtor for ************ was the most unprofessional individual I have attempted to work with.
