      Invoice: 20537 - Kurgan's Gutter & Siding Co, LLC We received a proposal from Kurgan Gutters for gutter repair and cleaning totaling $450. We assumed from the proposal that there would be $450 worth of work performed (the only materials appeared to be screws). The Kurgan Co. came and performed the work (7/25/2022) in a mere 15 minutes. When I received the invoice for $450 I called and inquired as to what appeared to us to be a substantial overcharge for the actual work performed. I was told by the proprietor that $450 was a minimum charge policy by his company for any amount of work done no matter how small. Nowhere is that indicated on the proposal or in the billing invoice nor was that communicated via email to us (please see uploaded/attached materials). Because of the failure to indicate a minimum fee and because this company came recommended to us by a close friend who is also in the trades in Nashville, we assumed that the proposal of $450 was for an actual $450 worth of work, and we accepted. During my phone inquiry about the billing invoice I asked the proprietor, if, at the time he came out to do the estimate and create the proposal, he knew that this would be a 15 minute job - and, he admitted that yes, he did estimate 15 minutes for the job. We feel that, because he knew this was a 15 minute job, and because there was no indication to us that this was going to be 15 minutes of work in the proposal, nor was there an indication of a minimum fee per job of $450, that ultimately we were substantially overcharged. I called about the invoice and voiced my concerns and the proprietor chose to do nothing about those concerns. We are asking for a revised billing invoice based on the cost of the actual work performed. We believe that $200 would be more than generous for the services provided and we would be agreeable to pay that amount. We appreciate your time.

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/03) */ To Whom it may concern We made two trips to Mr. ********* house, one to evaluate & one to do the work as described in his free estimate. Everything was done in the appropriate manner. It is very clear o my estimate on work to be performed. We had 3 men on the job that totaled 80.00 per hour and counts riding time. Plus all overhead. I explained to him we cant do $200.00 jobs. Does he not know about inflation? Fuel is $ 5.75 per gallon on diesel. We did nothing wrong we kept his gutter from falling off saving him 1000's to replace He accepted the proposal with no questions. after work was performed he had questions which I answered truthfully. I will not adjust due to his acceptance of my proposal. See attached . Although we disagree with the billing amount for the actual work performed by ****** Gutters, it is our desire to bring this regrettable decision and interaction with this company to a close. Therefore, we are opting to accept ******'s response to our complaint and pay the amount on the initial work order of $450. We would hope that in the future, if ****** estimates that a potential job is too small and/or too far away for the scope and size of his business operation he would have the professional integrity to either pass ** the job altogether or include in his proposal a breakout of both the cost/time of the actual work and his operational costs/"minimum fee". That way the customer can make an informed decision as to whether to accept or not based on the actual size of the job. By not including that information up front, it may result in the unfortunate scenario where a customer might feel taken advantage of - e.g., a customer unknowingly agreeing to a $450 proposal that only involved a mere 15 minutes of actual work.
