I purchased a 2012 ****** FZ6R from Highway 12 Motorsports located @ ********************************************** after the sales rep ****** said that there wasn't anything wrong with the bike.I start my journey to ******* only to start having fuel related issues within the first 100 miles or approximately one hour and a half. I put approximately 1300 miles on the bike before learning that the fork seals was leaking which is a Public Safety issue, along with the bike not having any rear turn signals.Business Response

The customer purchased a bike from us on *******. The customer contacted us on 7-30-24 and said he had some issues with the bike. He mentioned a fork seal leak and no turn signals. We let him know that there were no turn signals when he bought it. We had the bike priced well below book value and it never came with signals. Many customers that buy that style bike take the signals off. We told him we would look at the fork seals if he brought it to **. Customer brought the bike in and let us know he had been on a trip and we noticed the bike had 2100 more miles on the bike. He never mentioned a problem till after the trip and all the miles he put on the bike. He also had someone install a tire on the bike and the chain was stretched and left loose. We fixed the chain that someone else worked on for free as it was unsound and we didnt see a fork leak. He could have a leak and we didnt find it but he was also waiting on the bike and from *******. We never saw a leak before and could have easily developed a leak on his long trip. We would have looked further into the forks but he was waiting and if there was any issue he would have to leave the bike with us to install seals. So we repaired someone elses work that was unsafe for free. We didnt do anything about turn signals as it came that way when he purchased it and TN law doesnt require them. We commonly see bikes with signals removed. We would gladly look deeper into the fork seals if he wants to leave the bike with us. Even though he has put a huge amount of miles on the bike and we feel like any fork issue was probably during the long trip. But once again we have no problem working on the forks if he will leave it with us.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because all motorcycles registered after 1973 are required to have turn signals. I purchased the bike on 07/16/2024. A title transfer occurred from the state of ***** to the state of ******* on 07/17/2024. I could have tested to see if fork seals was leaking while at the dealership but took ****'s word that nothing was wrong with the bike. Despite the bike not wanting to start upon arrival & **** incorrectly hooking up the battery causing potential future electrical issues with the bike. I informed **** that this bike would be my primary transportation & that I was going to take a road trip to ********** to visit my daughter. I hold a valid Commercial Drivers License & am held to a higher standard when it comes to public safety unlike HIGHWAY 12 MOTORSPORTS ******************************************* *********, ** ***** **************, I take my bike to reputable businesses. This someone that they speak of claiming chain was left loose was RIDENOW POWERSPORTS OCALA ************************************************************ **************. It's currently sitting at INTERSTATE CYCLES ************************** *********, *** ***** ************** needing +$3,000 of work, including fork seals. Current estimate of $1,598.36 for diagnosis, fuel pump, chain, sprockets (front & rear).Business Response

Once again you are welcome to bring the bike here for us to look at the forks and leave it with us for the repair. It will take a couple days if anything is wrong with them. Turn signals are not required in ** and were not installed on the bike when you purchased it. Very common for them to be removed. They werent there when you bought it and if it were something you wanted in the deal it should have been addressed at that time. I simply cant buy additional items for the bike after the sale because you have decided you want them. They were never mentioned nor promised to you. As far as the chain repair, we did that for you for free from another shop that didnt adjust it properly after tire install. We did not charge anything for that. Bring the bike to us and we will look at the fork seals and replace them if necessary. The day you came you couldnt leave the bike with us and we did what we could on a short time constraint including repairing a chain that we didnt have anything to do with. Not sure if you mentioned you were driving it daily or on long trips etc but the fact is you have put a lot of miles on the bike already and in a short time. Im sure it will need additional maintenance as you own it including youve already installed a tire. Average miles on a bike is about 2200 a year and youve already exceeded that in 2-3 weeks. Thats great that it will be your daily but it will require maintenance as you go. We didnt hear anything about issues at all on the bike for weeks after you bought it. I would have assumed if these issues were prominent at the time we would have gotten a call asap. Not sure what all you are looking to get from this as we have repaired chain free from someone else issue and am offering to replace seals if you bring it to **. Signals were not on the bike at purchase. I hope this covers your concerns and you can bring it by for seals.
thanks

I just purchased a vehicle from this business May 30 2023. When I test drove the vehicle May23 2023 I let the sales manager *** know there was a small oil leak but everything else was fine. He said he would have some one look at it. ***** looked at it at all. I noticed the slight smoke once I got home I looked and it was the same leak. I call May 31 2023 to ask about my 90day warranty to see if that could be fixed under that. I was told they knew about the leak and had no plans on fixing that. I would like my oil leak fixed or at least to warn other consumers of the terrible business practices of this car lot.Business Response

I believe this was more of a communication error on our part than anything. We have reached out to the customer and I believe we are both in good standing. We previously have also stated that we would repair an inop steering sensor and we still intend on doing that when the part comes in. This was previously discussed as was the oil leak but not explained as well as it should have been. I believe the customer was also in agreement and this will be resolved as soon as the part we have ordered comes in.
thank you
