    Steakley Plumbing hasnt completed a job. I called for an estimate to remove a kitchen sink, install an owner supplied sink, ****************** They quoted $250. The 1st trip the plumber did nothing, he said he couldnt move a cast iron sink w/o help. The 2nd visit his helper never showed up. After waiting @ 45 minutes he went ahead& removed it himself, connected the drain trim rings but the granite opening was too tight in one area. At that time I told him that I did not like the gap between the trim ring &the sink. He said it was because of a gasket &the location of the threads. He said he would bring a different ring out and install it. So, I hired a granite contractor to grind out the opening. The 3rd trip he came out with a trim ring with different threads and installed it. There was still a gap where water collects in the crevice created making cleaning the sink difficult &it looked different than the garbage disposal side. I told him before he left that I didnt like ******* said he would get a larger drain trim. They then sent an invoice for over $1000 & never got back to me about the trim ring. I called & they reduced the price to $750 and sent the guy back out. He comes & looks at it & said he thought it was just off center and not the wrong size& didnt bring a bigger trim ring. He again said he would look for the right size but never got back to me. Then I get a bill for $784. Again higher than what I agreed to. I called & asked them to call me back, they didnt, so I mailed a check for the agreed $saying paid in full. They wont cash the check &said they would turn it over to collections. I asked for an itemized ************** said if I send in $84 1st they will THEN send an itemized bill. Im not going to pay more than what was said on the phone unless I get an itemized bill. They refused. So now it goes to collections because they wont send an itemized bill. They need to accept the $700 or fix the sink.

    I gave up and paid their inflated bill.  I was tired of the whole thing, especially the threats of turning it over to collections.  They hold you hostage.  I just wanted to be rid of them.  So, case closed. ************ learned.
