On June 17th of 2023, I purchased 4 new ************* Tires for my ***** Ridgeline from ************** in ******************. The tires were replaced immediately, after it was determined they were out of round. The new set of tires were fine for some time, but by the beginning of this summer, the same issue with the tires had returned. I went to my local ***** mechanic again, and he rotated and balanced them, but the issue remained. Finally, in this month, I went back to ************** and informed them of the issue. They said they had already warrantied out the tires, call Hankook to see if they can resolve this. When I called, the lady I spoke too said the warranty had expired after a year for the issue I had. I was never informed of a year warranty, only that I had a ****** mile warranty. She kept saying that there was nothing they can do. I now have a set of tires that make my steering wheel shake when I drive because they are out of balance, and a multi million dollar corporation will not refund my money to buy a different tire. I also called Tire Warehouse back and they had never heard of the one year warranty on "Ride Disturbance".

      To Whom It May Concern,

Hankook offers a 1-year Ride Disturbance Policy which is listed on our website for easy access for all of our consumers. With the tires being purchased over one year ago, the tires are no longer eligible for this warranty.

      Thank you!

      To whom it may concern,

All Hankook tires carry a 6 ************ Warranty from date of purchase. The consumer would simply return to the retailer who exchanged out their tires for them to submit the warranty on the consumers behalf as all tire warranty claims must be submitted by an Authorized Hankook Dealer. If the retailer has any questions, they may contact us at ************** option 1 for warranty.

      To whom it may concern,

We regret that the Hankook tires installed on the complainant's ****** Altima did not meet expectations. There are many factors that contribute to tire wear, and there is no hard and fast rule to measure the service life of a tire. Tires are made with various types of raw materials and a variety of rubber compounds all having varying performance properties. Once a tire is designed and manufactured to achieve given performance properties and put into use, it is subjected to further varying conditions such as weather, storage, load, speed, inflation pressure, maintenance practices, road conditions, driver inputs, and much more. Since all these factors affect the service life of a tire, it is just not possible to predict with accuracy or scientific validity the service life of a tire. While one may be drawn to look to the tire's construction as the sole contributor to the rate of tire wear, the earlier mentioned factors, and more, are direct contributors to how a tire will wear. It is important to note that the tires equipped as Original Equipment tires (OE Tires- tires installed during new vehicle assembly) on the ****** Altima do carry a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty against manufacturing errors. However, they do not carry a Mileage Warranty, which would cover mileage/wear. Therefore, the complainant is not entitled to any warranty consideration for this tire condition at ****** miles, or any mileage.

I purchased a new vehicle, 2016 ******** from a local dealer, with a current mileage of ******. Hankook tires were *** with the vehicle. I religiously bring my vehicle into the dealer for all maintenance, including rotating and balancing the tires every ***** miles. *** first set of tires FAILED (less than 3/32) at approximately 2***** miles. *** dealer indicated that I need new tires and that the tread wear failure was more than likely due to a defective set. So, they sold me another set of the same tire. I was in the dealer the other day for maintenance, oil change, tire rotation, etc. and was told that the new set of tires have 3/32 left on them and that I need a new set of tires. ***se tires have approximately ****** miles on them. *** Hankook tires that I have are supposedly warranted for ****** miles. *** tread failure at ****** miles means I have approximately 1/3 of the use - advertised warranty and actual life expectancy is fraud - it is no where close. It is a gimmick to prorate and hook the consumer into buying another set of tires.*** dealer is trying to sell me, yet again, ANOTHER set of tires. At this point I have gone through TWO SETS of Hankook tires, within ****** miles. This is not normal. *** tires on my ***** lasted twice as long before having to purchase a new set. Yet, the *** and new set that I purchased are averaging 2***** miles each, with a said warranty of ****** miles?

Hankook offers a prorated credit towards miles that were not received for the treadwear warranty. The tires must be worn evenly to 4/32nds or below and have rotation records showing intervals of ***** miles or less. The dealership would file the warranty on the consumers behalf.

      Complaint: 21895169

I am rejecting this response because:

      Dear Hankook,

Thank you for your response regarding the Hankook tires installed on my 2016 ******** While I appreciate the detailed explanation of the various factors that can contribute to tire wear, I am extremely dissatisfied with the performance of these tires.

Despite following all recommended maintenance practices, including regular rotations and proper inflation, the tires have worn out prematurely and have failed to meet even the most basic expectations of durability and reliability. This has not only caused significant inconvenience and expense but has also completely eroded my confidence in the quality of Hankook products.

Over the years, I have used tires from various manufacturers, and never have I encountered such poor performance as with Hankook. The premature wear of these tires is unacceptable, and the explanation provided does little to address the fundamental issue of their substandard quality. Your response comes across as a deflection of responsibility rather than a solution to the problem at hand.

I find the offer of a prorated credit towards miles that were not received for the treadwear warranty to be wholly inadequate and insulting. It does not compensate for the frustration and inconvenience I have experienced, nor does it restore my trust in your brand. The suggestion that I must prove regular rotations and specific wear patterns to qualify for this credit adds insult to injury. For your information, I routinely rotate and balance my tires every ***** miles.

Due to this extremely disappointing experience, I will never purchase Hankook tires again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. I expect higher standards from a tire manufacturer, and Hankook has clearly failed to meet those standards.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Sincerely,

We purchased a 2022 Equinox in February 2022. The Hankook tires only had ****** miles on a tire rated for ****** miles. We were going on vacation in January of 2024 and checked out the tires and they were so worn we had to replace before we went on vacation. We were worried about our safety on the old tires. Hankook Tires Kinergy St purchased 18 months ago have worn down in less than ****** miles of use. These are dangerous and today I slid off the road twice and nearly crashed due to the tread on tires being poorly made. These tires are just slightly above the warranty limits 4/32 and Hankook will not assure customer safety in any way, shape or form. After reading the numerous manufacturing issues related to Hankook tires and recalls due to faulty manufacturing, something needs to be done to protect customers who have their inferior products on vehicles. As a customer I do not wish to perish or put others in danger due to a substandard product. I hope Hankook will take action and take these tires back in the short term. In the long term I hope they will do a better job.

      To Whom It May Concern:

Hankook provides a competitive mileage warranty on most tires. If the eligible product wears out (down to 2/32nds of remaining depth) before the warranty mileage, Hankook will provide proration towards the purchase of a new tire. The replacement prorated allowance will be calculated by the percentage of warranted miles not received, multiplied by the original selling price. The complainant contacted Hankook Warranty Support to ask about how the mileage warranty works. After it was explained to the complainant that the tires must be at 4/32 evenly, they asked to speak to a supervisor. After they spoke to the supervisor, the supervisor over the warranty department reached out to Americas Tire and spoke with ****. Upon getting all the information from **** about the tires, a goodwill offer was made on behalf of the complainant's tires. Hankook does not cover the cost of mounting, balancing, taxes or any other additional fees. No additional offer will be made.
