I have banked with them for 17 years. Suddenly transactions with my account were declined this month. When I called, they informed me that they had closed my account. They could not tell me why the account was closed. They had also given me zero notice prior to closing it. I was absolutely shocked. I will never use them again.ORNL Federal Credit Union

Interest rate is way high on car loans. The online site is very difficult to navigate to be able to pay your bill. You all Do want the payment right? Then make it easier for not so computer savvy people. I am very sure their company is charging people way more than they need to just like Wells Fargo did. The app let's you lock your debt card but it takes hours to unlock it! I was stranded without gas on the side of the road for hours... this credit union needs to work on their app.. they're not helpful to call either..they transfer you back and forth and half of them don't speak EnglishORNL Federal Credit Union

5 starsI went to ORNL over the weekend and had the good fortune to deal with Sara ****** I was really dreading getting a credit card, she explained everything so well, and kept the tone so nice I really ended up enjoying my time there. She was personable and knowledgeable and funny. If this girl is not moved up to a manager level in the next year with her people skills it would be nothing but shortcomings on ORNL’s behalf. This was the first time I walked into a bank and said to myself, this person is going places. I’ll not use anyone else again.Review fromDave S

Not a very helpful credit union. Been a member for almost 20 years and tried to get my wife a small loan and was denied,,even with her excellent credit and me as financial support. They won't help someone get started.ORNL Federal Credit Union

I noticed my savings account was $100 less than it what it was and found that there was a debit for a credit card refund. I called about it and that is because they accidentally gave me a credit back over 6 months ago. I apparently did not notice then and no one informed me that I was getting one. So no one informed me ahead of time that they made a mistake that for some reason they are just now finding it. I hate the fact that they just helped themselves to my account to clear up their error. I am glad that I didn't desperately need the money but I feel it violated my trust with ORNL and will be looking to move to another bank.ORNL Federal Credit Union

Customer for 25 years - Will be pulling all my $ out. 5 serious issues in the last few months with incompetent customer support. W/o any notification or warning a transfer was stopped from my bros acct to mine - because he did not use online banking - causing a serious issue paying rent. Supposedly corrected only to have it happen the next month. Support verified the last agent messed up and corrected the issue. I've had fraud dept freeze my card for a purchase at my local Kroger? one I always shop at, but the most recent issue has been with fraudulent charges on my card. Tech C answered my call, but because I got the wrong address associated w/account, would not assist, and would not start over. Called back and got Tech C again, and we went through with the correct address. She cancelled the card and sent me to Fraud Dept w/# in case of disconnection. My phone # The one I have used for the last 15 or so years was not recognized. Called and tried again in case I mistyped. No luck. Called back, you guess it, Tech C who got a supervisor who transferred me directly to Fraud agent, who then would not help me because my card was not recognized? the one the other agent just cancelled. Horrible Horrible service and support.... friendly, but incompetent tech and a disconnect in your data server systems or something. my phone and acct are decades old. I hate to give you any kind of star. Used to be a great place to bank. Now every month brings a new disaster, inconvenience and inexcusable lack of service. Can't wait to get my money out of your bank. I HAVE NOT FAITH OR TRUST IN ORNL FEDERAL CREDIT UNION.ORNL Federal Credit Union

Got a truck loan through ORNL in Oak Ridge. Perfect. So, me and my husband decided to open a joint checking account at ORNL as well. BIG MISTAKE.
From the very beginning I was treated like I (the wife, joint owner) didn't matter. Like I was a second class citizen or something! My husband was given a ORNL membership card but I didn't get one. I had to tell the representative to MAKE ME A CARD TOO. I wouldn't have even known my account number! We didn't order checks or debt cards for the account.
Then, my husband set up his online banking. On his online app it showed our truck loan AND our joint checking account. When I set up my online app I was only able to see our truck loan. I wasn't able to see our joint checking account at all.
I called the bank and spoke to the online banking team and was told the representative that set up the account had set it up to where I was unable to see OUR JOINT CHECKING ACCOUNT. I immediately contacted the Representative. B. Cox was her name. She argued with me and said I had to share an online app account with my husband. Obviously this isn't correct since we had both already set up separate online app accounts etc and mine only showed the truck loan and his showed both the truck and the joint checking! Not to mention what the online banking member had told me.
So, two days after opening the account we personally went into the credit union. Unfortunately B. Cox is who waited on us AGAIN. I tried to explain everything. SHE CONTINUED TO ARGUE. So, I withdrew our $5,000.00 and closed the joint checking account.
We were in the transition of changing from one credit union over to ORNL. Glad we seen right away just how terrible their customer service is. 🙄ORNL Federal Credit Union
