    A-1 Finchum has to be one of the lowest & improbity company we've ever dealt with. House was purchased in 2021 and air unit was turned on November 2021. Air went out mid summer and A-1 Technician came to service the unit for free since it was still under warranty. The A-1 Technician recharged the unit with refrigerate and issue was resolved for the little bit remainder of summer. The air was turned off due to it being fall/winter so the air was not turned back on until the next Summer which was in and it was completely out of refrigerate, assuming there MUST be a leak, which the A-1 Technician should have found the first time around while servicing but instead it seems they wanted to slap a band aid on it, temporarily fixing the issue, knowing we'd run into the same thing next summer which is outside warranty time frame. We contacted A-1 Finchum and was advised we would have to repay the service fee and pay to re put refrigerate in it, AGAIN putting a band aid on the issue. We requested to speak to management, Randall got on the phone and immediately said "This conversation won't change anything." and hung up. He did not apologize for the inconvenience of the unit being messed up AGAIN. That is POOR leadership and the fact that A-1 Finchum has someone with that kind of leadership skills is embarrassing. The fact that we have kids, with no AC the lack of empathy and willingness to help us in ANY way from this company is beyond baffling, we got a snarky remark and hung up on. Owners were suppose to be back in contact with us, however silence, A-1 FInchum has lost our business and we've also shared our experiences on social media as well to let them beware not to do business with them. We have since then found another HVAC Company and there in fact was a leak and was completely out of frieon. We are the kind of people that NEVER expect free hand outs, but it's the fact that this is a 2 yr old unit and it should be messed up in such short time frame.

    The BBB is wrong. It sided with the culprit. The BBB reviewer was not attentive and can't read the text. He/she missed important lines in my complaint stating that the A-1 technician never mentioned that 3% charge will be applied to me. Yes, he said about 3% but everyone knows that the business picks up the tab. On the following business day, I called A-1 office and before submitting a credit card information verified once again the amount my card will be charged. The clerk said: $89. Why you at BBB don't understand this? Kind Regards, unhappy customer. P.S. This mishap casts doubt on the integrity of your BBB.

    The service call on 02/08/2024 was $89. I said that I’ll pay with the credit card. The technician mentioned twice about 3% surcharge that his company gets when accepts credit card payment. He didn’t say that my charge increases 3% and I have to pay 3% more. Next day I decided to pay. I called their office and before submitting the card number verified once more amount of the charge. The office clerk said w/o hesitation “$89.” That’s it. I submitted all required info and the payment was processed. To my astonishment I saw that my card was charged $91. 76. When I called A-1 office the owner told me that it was correct! I will never deal with A-1 Finchum Heating & Cooling. There are many companies to choose from. Thank you. P.S. Two days elapsed after my attempt to contact the owner. No action was taken by him. I called as he suggested earlier but I was told that he is busy. I never heard from him again. I let it go. Never again I will deal with A-1.

    As a company, we pride ourselves in being honest about all charges with our entire client base.  Per your own admission, you were advised of the 3% surcharge twice.  In an effort to avoid hidden fees, we do not automatically include this fee in our initial service pricing.  This allows us to only add the surcharge on those transactions that require a 3rd party processing.  Based on our review of the service interaction, it is also understood that the technician offered you two other payment methods that would not incur the surcharge and even suggested you pay with a check to avoid the surcharge. Because of your personal admonishment and internal review, it is clear that all company's policies were followed and enough information was provided to you to make an informed decision on payment with applicable charges.

    I have used A1 Finchum for many years on several of our properties. They are honest and get the job done in a timely manner. The technician Donnie arrived on time, was efficient, and answered all my quesions. They continue to check on us and provide excellent customer service. I recommend A1 Finchum for your HVAC system.
