I have a signed Contract for completion of a 2 bedroom addition to my house for $135,500 which was paid in full on 9/2/22 for completion date on or before 12/31/22, mid-Oct was date given. Contractor said $135,500 was price. He agreed to cover labor I agreed to cover some material cost and paid additional $5,000.00. Contractor continued to demand I pay more and more for deck, shower doors, finishing & closing bottom portion connecting structure, etc. He stalled on the project became aggressive when confronted about me paying more than agreed & labor on the building. He is demanding I owe him $10,000.00 when in fact I have paid over $20,000.00 on the Contract and we still are unable to move in due to his faulty oversight. His oversight of the project has caused damage to the original structure due to issue with the roof leaking. He has not replaced the original run off drain to original structure that was connected to the sub pump, workers have the gate in a fragile state needing repair. The new structure has incomplete siding ( I had to purchase additional siding because he got the wrong color), no run off drain installed no gutters or downspouts, I had to get someone to make a makeshift door to the crawl space, have insulation put in the attic to keep heat in and not waste electricity and other have to have basement steps repaired due to structural issues with the addition. He has failed to acknowledge his overspending and not sticking with the budget as well as acknowledging the additional money I have spent on material and labor and still do not have a completed project. He has failed to oversee that the framing and everything else including the plumbing was up to codes to pass inspection. I am now dealing with his sub-contractors who are refusing to pay re-inspection fees after initial final inspections failed due to his lack of oversight in ensuring everything was properly done and looking out for my interest as the Contractor prior to the termination.
