I called the owner ***, October 26, 2021 to see what he would charge to move a doublewide mobile home. I gave him all the necessary information he requested. He stated he would move, remove existing skirting, provide tires and axels if needed and put in a new anchor system. He also stated he would complete the outside work of putting the home back together. He said he would not do the interior work. He said the cost was $10,500. I asked if he wanted to look at where the home was currently placed or where it was going to move to. He said no. *** stated he wanted all cash in full before he moved the home. We met him on January 12 at Dennys in Abilene and gave him all cash of 10,500.00. We asked again about any additional costs. *** said that was the full amount. January 25, 2022 *** said he would be going to Whitney to take the trailer apart on the 31st. *** then began coming up with excuses of why he couldn't go work. Finally in March, *** began working on the home. He informed my brother that my brother needed to find a special machine to help with the removal. My brother did and then *** said after cancelling twice that he didn't need the machine. *** then informed my brother he needed to take down a fence, he did. Upon removal *** hit a tree with our home. Finally on March 9 *** said it would take 3-4 days to finish putting the home together and fixing the exterior. *** refused to paint the exterior damage he caused and said he would only repair it. Finally, on March 25th *** completed the job. I had to hire someone to paint the exterior damage and repair a problem with the roof that was done incorrectly. Then on June 4, I received a bill from *** stating that we owed him $3,297.00. He had several things listed but not itemized including the removal of the fence and tree cutting my brother did. He also listed things he informed us at the beginning were included. I was okay just letting all the issues we had with *** go until we got the bill.
