We bought a used 5th wheel trailer from **** at ******** ********* at the end of may. We spoke with **** on the phone multiple times before making the **** mile drive from ** to **. We told him we were new to this and had no idea what we were looking at and we have already had people lie to us trying to sell us on a rig with water damage. He insisted thats not how he does business and this trailer was gone through thoroughly by him personally and there were no issues. The ad stated ZERO ISSUES! According to **** the fading stickers and paint were the only issues with the trailer. Everything else was sound. Even had good tires on it. We made the drive and looked it over. For not knowing much about trailers everything seemed fine. The inside was really clean. I was a little bothered by him not disclosing the fuel pump not shutting off when I asked for ANY issues no matter how minor. But accepted that it was rather minor and we made the purchase. We drove the rig all the way home (60mph down hwy 40 into **) not knowing what was coming. We made it home without issue. The next day we went to move the trailer and heard a loud pop followed by another. The leaf spring shackles had broken on both sides leaving us stranded on the side of the road. (If that happened on the way home we would be dead.) After replacing the suspension we learned the tires were 11 years old needing to be replaced. The weight of the rig slamming down on the wheels bent an axle which destroyed 4 brand new tires. The brakes and bearings needed replacement. The water tank support buckled leaving the fresh water tank hanging just above the ground. The water pump was cracked leaking water inside the compartment and we now have water getting inside the bedroom slide from an unknown area. This is all in our first trip with this rig with no issues. **** will not respond to messages and takes no accountability, saying he didnt know anything about the trailer despite telling us he went through everything
