My heater was installed by this company about 2 years ago. I called them in October of 2022 to report a sudden loud noise coming from the unit. They came and said the blower wheel was bent and would need replacing and the part was covered by warranty but the labor was not. He replaced the part and I paid $320 for the labor . In the meantime, I called the manufacturer about the part being "defective" and he agreed to credit Weidners acct at Carrier $100 to give back to me for the reasonable labor charge for that repair. The technician confirmed the credit and on 3 occasions said he would bring me the $100, which never happened. In between the initial repair and now, Ive had to call them back approx 5 times bc the noise has never resolved. He arrived on each request and verbalized he tried several remedies and to let him know if it got better. It never did. Now in Feb, on the last call he told me short of replacing the whole unit, there was no way to fix it and that would cost me hours and hours of labor and that he would call Carrier to see what he could find out. I never heard back from Weidners tech. I then called Carrier myself and explained what was going on. A specialist said if the wheel failed, then the motor likely caused it and would have to be changed out, not just the wheel. I gave up and called another company since the unit was much worse sounding and wasnt heating our home. The tech w the new company was amazed at evidence of "repair" when he opened the unit. Stripped out bolts, washers stacked to fill in gaps and random rubber pieces forced in places. I explained the previous work done and he said the whole blower motor AND wheel has to be replaced with that issue-Just like Carrier told me. An appt was set for the repair. I left a msg for Weidner owner requesting he come look at the unit before its fixed so he could see the condition- no reply. It was $500 for this repair and they had to replace the wheel again. no reply from Weidner now for 2 weeks!
