On December 13th, 2022 at approximately 7:10 p.m. I walked into my home after a long day of work to discover at least two big RATS in my home. They appear to have eaten through wood in the kitchen under the cabinets to get in my home. I am located on the second floor and have never had a issue with any type of infestation. The rats were bigger than my foot. There was a storm that couldve caused them to want shelter, but my home is not their home. Rats carry infectious diseases that could cause harm to me. I am not a nasty person so I shouldnt have any rodents in my home. Especially not huge rats. I fear for my life. I do not feel safe in my home.

I am rejecting this response because: Rats are running around at night. I have bags in the cabinet they ramble thru the bags all night until the lights come on. I think I should be compensated for living with rats.

I am rejecting this response I, ***********************, would like to give some information that will help us come to a resolution for the issue at hand. Being that I walked into my home from a long day of work and located RATS in my home, I made a work order for the rats to be located, removed, and restoration of wood in which they entered my home. The maintenance people came and searched for rodents in kitchen, behind all appliances, and simply replaced two boards underneath kitchen counters. The rats were not located. Being that the rats were not located I started leaving lights on in the kitchen and fan so that it would appear to be someone moving inside my home. In return I have received higher utilities. So, I turned my lights and everything off because the higher utility caused hardship. The rats came back and found another way into my home the same night I decide to turn everything off. Rats carry infectious diseases and that, I was afraid of. Especially, being that they are bigger than my foot. I ended up making another work order, I also called management to have them remove the rat that I caught on a rat trap, located inside the counters where my dishes were. I did include A refund as a resolution, but I do feel a credit applied to Februarys Rent will actually show empathy toward the situation at hand. It just doesnt seem fair to me. I have included a video of the rat I ended up catching inside of my home after the work order was supposedly resolved. I purchased traps and a lot of sanitation and disinfectant products. Please give a resolution before Rent is due because I do feel I am compromising by handling this matter so calmly. The contract says I have to pay for pets and those rats are not my pets, they do not belong inside my home. I will be leaving lights and fan on until the day I decide to move out because the rats can easily come back and find another way in.
