    In the fall of 2021, we purchased a whole house ** system from Sheltons. I had no experience with ** and believed their claims of expertise in the area. Numerous problems both with the system and with Sheltons have arisen since the installation. Some issues have already been addressed with Sheltons to include incorrect electrical connections and corrosion hazards. After Sheltons started to charge a significant trip fee for service calls, we switched to another company and found some other things that had been incorrectly installed/ utilized in the system. As installed, the ** system fed directly into four pressure tanks which then fed the house (~250 away). Come to find out, an ** system is not designed to have back pressure. This had been hampering the systems ability to produce from the start, but we had been fooled into thinking the system was doing better than it was (see below). The installed ** system pump is designed to be efficiently operated below 150psi, but the original setup was with high pressure membranes (optimized for well over 200psi). Operating at that pressure, the pump was well past the point on the efficiency curve where it could push enough volume of water to reach the peak 1.5gpm efficiency of each membrane. There was a valve in the system which we were challenged to see the purpose of. It came off of the ** pump outlet and when opened, would flow water directly to the production outlet, just prior to the production gauge. This water bypassed the membranes, but made the gauge read that the system was producing well over the 1-1.5gpm that it could actually make with the incorrect pump operating well over its optimum psi. We consulted other ** system experts and could come up with no other function for this valve. Sheltons water has taken well over $20,000 of our money. Much of the original system they installed has had to be replaced at additional cost with the correct components.We seek a partial refund of $15,000.
