    January of 2022 I applied for an apartment with northgate. I was short on time so I applied without actually going up to the property. Within the week I had spoken to the assistant manager **** several times through email. I paid the App and admin fee of 99 dollars, a risk fee of 250, rent that was ****, and a deposit of 100. I turned on the electricity two days before move in. The day before my expected move in I received a email at 5 pm saying I was actually denied and what was an address for them to refund my money to. I still havent received the money back and cannot get ahold of a single employee. When I did get ahold of someone they had me reappply to try and override it so I pay another 100 only for the leasing agent to ignore me the whole office wont answer then they send an adverse action letter I have contacted northgate mamy times I have emailed them a demand letter and no response ever came of it. I currently owe an electric **** for a apartment I never set foot in, the whole point of me paying the 250 risk fee was for them overlooking my background , I was not read the tenant screening criteria by anyone, I got denied because of my background. So idk why they would charge me the 250 if they arent gonna hold up on their end.

    Upon move in, toilet was broken. Maintenance came to fix it twice. Smoke alarm started beeping a week after and it took the maintenance about 3 weeks to fix same. Light in kitchen then went out, has been out since October 2021. 8 maintenance requests have been requested, trips to front office as well. Nothing rectified. Sink has been clogged up since there beginning of February 2022. Again multiple maintenance requests, trips to front office. Nothing done. This is by far the worst experience ever. Especially due to the fact there is MOLD growing inside of the clogged sinks. I have a 8 month old child, if my child gets sick or needs any type of medical care due to the growing MOLD. I AM SUING THIS COMPANY and will retain an attorney. They do not care about their residents. As there are plenty of roaches as well, those were noticed upon move in.
