This place of business is a Fitness Gym. I have been a member of this establishment for over 5 years. Last year they switched gym managers, in which this new manager is never at the gym there is posted business hours of Monday thru Friday 10am - 5pm and any time I stop by there to cancel my membership the manager is never there. I have sent countless emails and I call everyday and I have never received an answer or response back. All I am trying to do is cancel my membership because they raised the rates (again). They gym is also very dirty trash is piled up inside the doors packages are just left out, The water machine doesn't work, the bathrooms don't have hot water or paper towels. The establishment is very much neglected and not taking care of their patrons.

Beginning of April 2024, I went into the office to cancel my membership due to complications on my pregnancy. I couldnt work out during my pregnancy as I thought I would. I have a contract with Anytime Fitness and the only way to get out of it is if I meet requirements that they have set up. Well one of them is to have a doctors note stating any impediments to workout. I complied with the requirement and my membership is still active and they are still taking money out of my account after calling twice and going into the office twice to cancel. The so called manager was rude the second time I went in to inquired about my cancellation and he promised to call me with an update, and he never did. It has been a month and he hasnt called. I left voicemails and he doesnt return my calls. It was so easy to sign up but they are making it hard to cancel and that is illegal as I have met the set requirements by the gym. This is a violation of the Federal Trade Commissions. If this doesnt get resolved I will file a lawsuit. I want a refund from the day I went on to cancel and I need you to cancel my membership!

I got my contract through anytime fitness in January of 2022 for a 1 year's contract. Everything was fine until I had been going to another close anytime fitness which switched my home gym to the ****** location which was fine but in doing that they made it to where I was paying monthly instead if bi weekly. We'll they were taking the monthly amount of bi weekly so I was getting double charged for over 3 months. They keep telling me they are going to credit me the differmece but just keep charging me every month. So I went to cancel My contract in June of 2024 and they told me i can't because I'm on a 3 year contract. That is not what I signed up for and was deceived when I signed paperwork. I have heard from other people they experienced the same thing. Not to mention if I was on a 3 year plan I wouldn't be paying the full amount I was paying so I am suppose to be getting money back. They canceled my friends account without refunding him his money and am really upset that they are going to try to do it to me to.

I signed a year contract with anytime fitness in April 2023. I sent in a cancellation letter March 30th 2024 and my year contract ended April 24th 2024. I have emailed and called the facility a dozen times, have talked to ****** stating they have processed my cancellation however I keep getting charged. Every week I call and leave voicemails, which no one will respond, and on the rare occasion I do speak with ****** he assures me that my billing will be stopped. I was just charged again on June 5th. I now live ************************************** and talk to someone.

My wife contacted this gym via phone at the beginning of May to verbally request that our contracts were cancelled at which time the gentleman stated that the contracts would be cancelled and that we would no longer be charged. On May 8th our account was drafted for $24.89 and on May 13th our account was drafted for $28.13 despite our request to cancel. We have made eight additional attempts to call the gym with no response.I submitted an online message on June 1st through the Anytime Fitness website providing the details for the incorrect charges letting them know we expect to be credited and have not received a response.Today, June 3rd, we received an email from a collection agency stating that we have late payments to the gym (screenshot of email attached).

I've had a membership with AF for years, but last week I drove there early in the morning (30 minute drive) to work out before I had to work that day and couldn't get in. My fob didn't work, the door was locked, and nobody was there. I called, no answer, messaged them and never received a response (not just that morning, they never responded to my message).Because the gym was totally inaccessible, I went to a Planet Fitness down the road and started a membership there so I could still work out that day. I then messaged AF requesting to cancel my membership. On 5/13, over half a week later, they acknowledged my cancellation request by text (they still never acknowledged the inaccessibility of the gym), and said per their 30 day policy I am required to make another payment on 6/5. I told them I only had to switch because their gym was inaccessible, so I should not be required to make yet another payment. They doubled down "because it is their policy", so I explained yet again, I would not have had to switch gyms if their gym, that I was paying for, was accessible, the ONLY reason I had to switch suddenly was because I literally could not use theirs. Had I simply WANTED to switch, I could have planned it, made the request and started at the new gym when my time there was up, but AF was inaccessible and they never responded to me when I asked them what was going on. They then stopped communicating with me. The next day I called the corporate number, explained it to them, and they said they fully understood my side, but there is nothing they can do but reach out to the gym owner and ask them to consider doing the right thing because it is independently operated and ultimately up to them. I'm already paying for the rest of this month that I'm not using, it is unreasonable to expect me to make yet another payment next month and not take responsibility for the fact that this only happened because their gym was totally inaccessible.

I signed up for a 12 month contract, and my contract is up June 15. They have my account set up to auto renew, and I did not want it auto renewed. I gave a 30 day notice to stop auto renew. I went in person and the *** *****************, assured me he would change my account to not auto renew. A week later it was still not done. I went back May 15 and requested ***************** change it. He promised he would and said it would take 24 hours to update the system. It was NOT updated after 24 hours. He even sent me an email with all my account information assuring me after 24 hours it would updated.I submitted a contact me form on their website to cancel the auto renew with no response. I emailed a request twice to ***************** with no response. I called the corporate office and explained the problem. The woman at corporate said she would submit a ticket to make Anytime Fitness Prosper address this issue. NO response. I also sent certified mail letters to Anytime Fitness and their billing company (as required in my contract well over the 30 day notice) to cancel my auto renew, and I have no response as of now.I do NOT authorize them to auto renew. They are deliberately ignoring me and refuse to change my account as I am requesting. I am within my rights and done everything and more beyond what my contract even requires. As of today, my account still shows yes to auto renew. This is going to automatically renew another 12 month contract. They are a scam!

I request the BBB not post this review online because I was guaranteed no auto renewal and misunderstanding on my part. Again, please dont post my original complaint - it was my mistake.

I went in to the location and spoke with ***** about canceling my personal training on 2/19/2024. He had me sign a cancellation notice on his iPad, and advised me it would be a 30 day notice. I was billed again for $160 on 3/15 and $160 on 4/15. I have reached out to the office by phone 3 times with no returned phone call. I also visited again in person. No one was available to address my concern and was told again that someone would call but received no resolution

I am rejecting this response because it does not provide an actionable resolution. Due to lack of communication and continued broken promises from local staff to follow up I am not confident that reasonable action will taken to review and resolve the issue.

I signed a contract with anytime fitness in November 2021. After moving 20 min away I went to a gym that was within walking distance. I understood I had to pay the gym membership until the contract was over. I contacted the gym to cancel after the contract was up. I was continuing to pay a gym I was not using and the contract was up. I called to cancel again because I was still paying them after it was up. They informed me I had to pay the payment for the month I didnt pay them because I told my bank to stop payment I had already cancelled plus fees. They would also not let me cancel unless I came in which their hours they are there are while Im working. They only let me mail in a written letter or go in. Theyre now saying if I dont pay they will send me to collections and informed I signed a contract that I would pay if it renewed. I did not authorize this renewal in fact I asked it would not be. Please help.
