Our contract to replace a backyard fence and deck started on May 12, 2022. We paid half of the cost which was $34,100. To date, after many requests to finish, the following work remains unfinished: Fence. The fence on the south side of the property is partially complete but needs a final section completed. The other 2 sides of the fence have been torn down but have not been started. Lower deck. The lower deck has been demolished and the framing has been partly rebuilt, but not completed. Upper deck. A small part of the upper deck has been demolished. There is currently no exit outside our bedroom door because of this. But otherwise, nothing on the upper deck has been done. Stairway. The stairway connecting the upper and lower deck has been partially demolished, but otherwise nothing has been done. Debris. **** from the demolition of the deck and a car bumper from one of the workers as well as trash and abandoned tools have been in our yard for months. This needs to be taken away. In addition, ******* have broken multiple pool pipes (by stepping on them) during the job which remain unfixed. We are incurring costs in water bills and will need to get our own plumbers on site to fix this. Samples. Although promised samples for the composite material to go on the top of the deck many times, we have never seen any. Work has been done for a few hours a week, with no sustained periods. Every period of work that was conducted was after repeated requests by text and phone. Recently, there has been no work for weeks. After a letter of demand was sent to ask for a work plan or a refund, there was no communication. After calling and asking for a refund, there were text messages from the owner, ***************, promising to have a crew out there. No crew ever came. This promising and disappearing has been repeated constantly. Reviews on Angis list, Houzz, and **** describe similar experiences with this scam.
