Company mailed out a letter recommending I use their services to file my Homestead Exemption. I completed their form online and made payment through their website (www.hrstx.com) on August 1, 2022. It is now June 17, 2023 and no Homestead Exemption Applications have been filed with the county that I reside in. Upon calling the ****************** they notified me that nothing had been filed through any company. There was no confirmation or receipt other than the charge on my credit card statement to prove that a payment was made on their website. Company is mailing out unsolicited documents disguised to come from a government entity. I would like a full refund of my $35 as this company did not perform the service they said they would and is not an agency which processes these types of application for the state or county tax offices.

Thanks for the inquiry from Mr. *******.  We researched his account and see we mailed him the paperwork for the Designation of Homestead on 8-2-2022.  Along with the Designation was completion instructions.  Once mailed it is up to the homeowner to follow the instructions to complete the process of filing the Designation of Homestead (not tax exemption) with the county clerk's office.  We are not sure if he in fact did this.  Based on his request we went ahead and refunded the credit card used to pay for the service. Thanks

We received ***************** request via our website on 2-8-2023.  On 2-9-2023 we mailed her the Designation of Homestead documentation along with completion instructions.  This was mailed to the same address the original application was sent via first class mail with ***************** Postal Department.  We are sorry she did not receive and will process a refund for her today.  She should see in 5 to 7 days.

I was called on my homestead exemption filing in April *********************************************** January. I did not hear back from the appraisal district so I assumed this was something not included on the form as forms get outdated. I sent the $35 fee and never heard back. They did nothing but cashed the check and have nothing to do with the homestead exemption process. This is a complete scam.

Thank you for your message.  Can we get additional information from ************** to find her account?  Is there another applicant or name that the account could be under or another address?  Based on her last name and street address we are having difficulty finding her account. Thanks

We have refunded *************** and sent her a receipt.  She was not scammed as we were providing her the service of completing her Designation of Homestead.  Unfortunately she must not understand the protection offered by the Designation in the **************.  She can still use the documentation we completed for her if she signed in front of a notary.  She now only need to file the document with the Harris County ************** so the Designation is on file. Thanks

Homestead Recording Service required a notarized document and payment for recording my homestead exemption with Parker County. They actually sent the document back as Filed and Recorded, which was false. Parker County had no record of my Homestead Exemption. I need a full refund. A check made out to me.

********************** did in fact receive the Designation of Homestead filed and recorded with Parker County **************.  The Designation is not the same as the Tax Exemption and is filed at the County ************** not the ********************* which is why when Mr. ******** spoke to the tax office they said they had nothing on record.  If ********************** contacts the County ************** or goes to their website he will find his recorded Designation of Homestead on file.  I hope this helps.

I received a very official looking letter from this company, requesting that I file by a certain date. I am new to *****, and new to the Homestead process, so naturally, I went online and paid the $35 as they requested. Only to then Realize that this business is a total scam, and my money has been stolen. This business needs to be shut down, and I am requesting a full refund.

Thanks for your inquiry from ***********************  Our company provides a very helpful service for the Designation of Homestead.  The Designation of Homestead is a protection on a persons property from creditors offered by the **************.  This protection is real and a law in *****.  Our company helps homeowner's to file the appropriate paperwork with their ************************ to benefit from this protection.  I would highly recommend ********************** research the Designation and all it's benefits and what we do before stating we are a scam.  We have gone ahead and issued a refund.

I am rejecting this response because:
This business does not act in integrity. This business has the tactic of fronting as a government official business, to get sales. If this business was as great as they say they are, they would lead with integrity, and full transparency, and be completely up front with the service they provide.  Which they do not.

And Im not a Mr. ** name is ********, and I am very much a woman. so thats also some thing that they pay attention to.

I appreciate the refund, although I had already put in a stop payment with my bank

**********************, we are sorry that you do not agree with our form.  We know you have your mind set and probably won't take the time to research the Designation of Homestead and it's benefits.  If you can call our toll free number on the form and hit option 1 this will also explain our service and who we are and what we do.  Toll free number is available 24/7. Company mailed out "official ***** property code homestead designation" form with due date coinciding with tax day. Charged card for 35 dollars with no confirmation email or confirmation page. Upon review of the BBB website found that this has been a scam and that there is no benefit or purpose for the form or the charge. Require the company to provide a refund for actively preying on homeowners and disabled veterans.

Those letters are Step 1 and Step 2 of the sign up process.  We mail the Request Form to a homeowner first and if they sign up we send them the Completion Instructions next so they know how to complete the Designation.  If you read the 2nd letter (Completion Instructions) the paperwork gives them two option on how to get the Designation signed in front of a notary and filed with their county clerks office.  If we didn't send Step 2 we would not be fulfilling our obligation to Step 1, so yes we did mail them two forms but that is standard so that a homeowner has the full details on how to complete.  We did also mail another request form as stated in my earlier response and that one was sent to a different address that they used to live in.  Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:That's not true - step 1 was to pay them $35 from the online form they send you. They aren't being truth full and trying to seem legit. I already paid $35 to get my homestead exception so why are they sending me more letters and asking for more $$.

I'd like to see what we get from them for the exemption and what it gets you from a tax perspective. Can they give this to us?
