On 4/7/22, I hired MB Unlimited to remodel by shower. Quote was $2800 and $1900 was due up front to purchase materials (glass, tile, grout, etc). I gave MB Unlimited (*******************************) $1,900 in cash (19 one-hundred dollar bills). He gave me a receipt for the $1900 and stated it was "Payment for Shower remodel 2/3 for materials." After waiting for 5 weeks and no materials have been delivered to my home, I questioned the contractor as to where my glass and materials were...he kept putting me off saying he was working to get the glass ordered and it would be $2200. I sent him an email and told him that my friend just had her shower done and the glass was only $850. He got upset and told me "fine, go order your glass from them instead and then he said he would TRY to get my money back." He never placed an order for glass and he never purchased the materials so I don't know why he has to TRY and get my money back. He should still have the $1900 in his possession and be able to return it with no trouble. A few days later or so, I texted him and said "I am ready to move on with my project, when can I expect my refund". He replied "I will get you a refund. Patience is a virtue. You can't just demand things and get your way all the time. It's now how people work. Being polite and patient would still have your project moving forward."He continually led me to believe that he was getting my glass ordered but I asked him 4 times for the name of the glass company and he would never give it to me. I have since learned that the glass company MUST come to your home and measure to make sure measurements are exact. So there is no way possible that he had been working with a glass company and had given them measurements as that's not how the process works. Resolution -- I want my money back. It's my money and he has not fulfilled his end of the contract/quote.Thank you BBB for your time.
