I reside at a residence in ************. My vehicle, a ****** Camry, was towed on 10/08/24 at 11:37pm. I have had a permit to park this vehicle since I received it in June of 2024. I paid around $245.02 to recover said vehicle. I don't feel I should be paying this fee to recover my vehicle when I've already had a permit for it. I"ve reached out to their customer service **** multiple times FOR THE PAST MONTH. With the little responses I have received from this company they agreed to a refund but have not repaid it or responded to my emails since. Filing a complaint with the BBB is my next option because I would like to resolve this issue and receive my refund as soon as possible.Business Response

My car was towed from my apartment complex parking lot. I have a sticker on my window from the apartment complex which signifies my vehicle should not be towed. At this time my vehicle is in the impound lot with A & A Wrecker. My car shouldn't have been towed. A friend stayed over at my apartment complex, Skyline at ******************, and forgot to register their car, and got towed as per the rules. The car was properly and lawfully towed, however upon trying to receive the car, we found nobody was working the building we were directed to go to. We were told to arrive at 3:15pm on 10/5, which we were early for. We knocked and nobody answered so we called and they said they were sending someone out to help us. After 30 minutes, the only people who had arrived were more people trying to get their cars back. We all continually called A&A to try and get our cars back, and after the first couple of times answering the phones and lying about sending someone out, they stopped answering the phones altogether. After 2 hours of waiting in the heat, a tow truck dropping off a car came by and we stopped him and got him to call somebody to come help us. We were still charged the maximum amount of $250 after being forced to wait for 2 hours and ignored with no idea if we would be able to get the car back.Business Response

I am writing to formally file a complaint against [A&A Wrecker] regarding the improper towing of my registered vehicle from my apartment complex, [****************], located at [****************************************************************************]. My vehicle was labeled as "inoperable" and towed without any prior notice, in direct violation of the Texas Towing and Booting Act (Texas Occupations Code Chapter 2308).On [Date], my vehicle was on stands for a necessary repair in its designated parking spot at my apartment complex. The vehicle was fully operable and registered with the complex, as required. After approximately one week, the towing company removed my vehicle without providing any notice.Under Texas law, apartment complexes and towing companies are required to provide written notice to residents before towing a vehicle for being inoperable or for similar violations, especially if the vehicle is registered with the complex. In this case, no warning or notification was given to me, and my car was unjustly towed. I was forced to pay over $400 to recover my vehicle.Additionally, the apartment complex took no responsibility for the incident and directed me to handle the issue with the towing company directly, leading to further frustration and financial hardship.I request the BBBs assistance in investigating this towing company's practices and ensuring that they comply with Texas law regarding notification before towing vehicles. Business misrepresented time they would arrive and cost until my car was up on an affiliates tow truck. Its not buyer remorse- its unethical and scary the power they have once your car is lifted up to make you pay whatever theyd like. Additionally, when I called after getting my car out from the lift ****** to talk about the pricing, customer service raised their voice with me- clearly this happens a lot. On Sunday, September 08th A&A Towing wrongfully towed a ********* vehicle from in front of my garage at *************************************************************************************. A&A was hired by HOA to patrol the community to help enforce parking regulations by removing vehicles that violates parking regulations. However, the vehicle in question was parked properly in front of my private of my private garage when it was towed. When I contacted A&A's customer service, I was told the vehicle was towed for parking in the fire lane. Now as you can see in the picture attached and where the vehicle parked based on camera footage there is no fire lane. I was advised to dispute the charge by emailing their customer service, with possibility of refund, but I would still need to pay to release the vehicle. To resolve the situation quickly, I gave my ******* the money so that he could pay to retrieve his vehicle. This is not the first time A&A has wrongfully towed a vehicle from my address. In 2023, they towed a company vehicle with the business name plastered on their van, and I was informed by my HOA that it should never have happened. It seems A&A has been improperly towing vehicles and fabricating reasons to justify their actions. I have sent multiple emails asking A&A to review the most recent incident, but they have not responded.Business Response

They requested that the owner of the vehicle will need to reach out because they will only disclose information to the owner despite the company removing the vehicle from my property and my address also documented on the receipt they provided. The owner of the vehicle will reach out. Until the money is fully refunded, this case has not been revolved.

I am rejecting this response because: I'm in close communication with the vehicle owner, and A&A has not taken any steps to resolve the issue. Their last email indicated they would respond within 2-3 days, which echoes their previous message. Despite clear evidence of an illegal tow, no action has been taken to rectify the situation.
I'm attaching an email from **** ******, the owner of the **** F-150, authorizing them to communicate with me directly. The company continues to disregard his request. As previously stated, they refuse to acknowledge the illegal nature of the tow, unnecessarily prolonging the process. This behavior suggests a pattern, as evidenced by numerous negative ****** reviews.

A&A wrecker towed my vehicle from my residence because my license plate didnt match what was in the system even though the make model color and Vin number matched, and they didnt attempt to verify that I owned the vehicle.When I called to inquire about getting my vehicle returned to me, I was told I had to wait at least and hour before they could process the release.
