On 03/01/2025. I contacted Pop-a-lock to inquire about a quote to get a key made for my van.I was contacted by someone that provided me the quote. At the time, my key was missing and I informed the person on the line that I only had a key that would not start the van. They quoted me $180. I let them know thank you for the information, but the tech insisted and I agreed for them to come make the key.The tech took 5 hours to arrive and within that time I had found my missing key. Since the tech was already along the way, I decided to move forward with getting the key made. When the tech arrived, I informed them that I had found my missing key and would instead like a duplicate key made. Transaction was completed.Four days later, I tried to use my old key on the van and it would not work. It was determined that they reprogrammed the car to only work with the new key instead of making a duplicate key.I called pop-a-lock back to inform them to try to find a resolution on 03/06/2025. I was called later that a tech would come back to correct it the next day. Later that evening around 9:30pm, i was called by someone stating they were the owner. They pursued to have an argument with me and told me I could drive down on the weekend to have it fixed or they would simply hang up on me. I agreed to drive down. The next day, the original tech called me and asked how I would like this resolved. I informed them I was told to drive down to Beaumont to have it fixed. The tech informed me they were closed on the weekend.I contacted the owner and they informed me to drive to a techs personal residence to have it fixed. This is getting uncomfortable as I have received multiple stories and I am not sure who is telling the truth in this situation. Also it is odd I am being told to go to someones personal residence. Can someone please help me get this resolved? I paid $180 to have a key made and the other to no longer work.
