I am from ********* and went to Doggett Toyota in Beaumont to buy a car for my daughter on May ******. It is now June 28, 2024 and I have yet to receive my license plate from the dealership. The temp tag expires in 2 days. I was told there was a computer hack which was nationwide and they could not do anything to help me. I went to the Louisiana DMV and was told since I bought the car in ***** they could not issue me a temp tag. The car was a rental from Doggett rental fleet with the ownership being in **** rental name. They havent even gotten the car in my name yet. My complaint is starting Monday my car cannot be legally driven. If it is driven and pulled over a moving violation ticket will be issued. We have tried to reach out to Doggett and keep getting told there was nothing they can do and that they have never encountered this problem.

I am rejecting this response because:
The car was purchased May1, 2024.  The computer hack was in June 2024.  That should have been plenty enough time to process the paperwork for my license plate.   My temp tag expired and your finance officer would not reissue another temp tag.   I am paying notes on this vehicle that isnt even in my name

I have driven Toyota Majority of my adult life.Purchased new 2020 Toyota Camry with 21 miles in November of 2019, passenger side das had black red and yellow wires hanging. Mr. ****** salesman said it was cosmetic when I went to pick up the plates. I as feeling light headed , placed carbon monoxide detector in car March7, 2024, it read over 200. I brought it in for evaluation. Doggett sent a video stating the fumes was coming from oil leak from crank shaft. Warranty covered , I needed to pay $331 of vents. I paid with credit card. Upon pick up the car the following day and drove it around the block. The car had fumes in the cabin still. Carbon Monoxide detector read 227. I returned it to Doggett with ***** so miles. service team said corporate come pick the car up. I stopped to pick up personal items and the passenger side dash trim was removed. No answers to why. The wires were covered that hung the pass 4 years. Toyota ****************** Area Toyota Sienna ******* total run around. $2200 in rental bills. Poor health on oxygen therapy 24/7. Request to purchase car back similar to 2020 Camry with recalls for same problem. Car potential to catch in fire. No warning lights with leak.****** sent email offer for Doggett $19,000 last week. Toyota deny being aware of offer ***** miles. Doggett doing secret repairs with notice us. I don't know what condition the car is in. Had to purchase another car to get to medical appointments. Doctors warn do not get a car with past carbon monoxide poisoning. *********** with corporate Toyota no help. Toyota failed to comply with EPA regulations for years. And this is a prime example. Dangerous to be on highway.

I apologize for your your frustrations with the readings in your CO meter. The entire process would have been much easier if you would have granted us access to your meter as we requested on multiple occasions. Our intentions were to take the car and the meter to the local fire department and have them inspect the accuracy of the meter and the CO levels in your vehicle. I helped you call Toyota to express your concerns with them about your Camry. After you filed a Lemon Law case with Toyota, they sent *************** Technical Specialist to inspect your vehicle. He inspected the vehicle with Laboratory grade test equipment and found no CO levels present inside the vehicle while in operation. After Toyota denied your lemon claim, we were happy to assist you. Due to the excellent condition of your Camry, we were happy to purchase it for $3,000 more than the Carfax offer that you had previously obtained. The copy of the check for $22,000 is attached to this file.Thank you for the letting us assist you with your vehicle needs and we wish you well in the future.

      Complaint: 21906135

      I am rejecting this response because:Complaint: 21906135

I am rejecting this response because: the car blow a gasket, leaked a large amount of oil, oil burn and fumes came into the cabin. The oil leak without and safety indicators displayed is a major safety issue. This car is unsafe to drive. Doggett stated they fixed the oil leak March 7. I believe they did. However, it is still a hazard to drive. It can blow another gasket and catch on fire. We requested it be brought back, like other 2020 Toyota Camry, that are under recall for the same reason. NHTSA ID *********, recall 11/30/2020 recall 20V-012, 20TA02,  and NHTSA 20V064000, 20TA014 recall.  Doggett has done interior front trim work to passenger side of the car that was not there when I dropped off the car  March 7, 2024. I don't know what has been to the car since March 7, 2024. Also, I was told by *****, salesman and *****, sales manager,  $22000 for the purchase of my 2020 Camry.  After giving the title to Sales Manager *****, the receipt he gave us clearly says "Voucher good for vehicle purchase. No cash value." We are not interested in purchasing a car from Doggett nor driving a Toyota again. The car is still under manufacturer's power train warranty. It had   53,278 miles March 7, I'm not sure how many miles it has now. We have not seen any documentation on Lemon Law from Toyota. We get total run around each time we talk to some one and they promise but does not deliver.  Under lemon law we are requesting total purchase price refunded. Doggett, fixed the oil leak, secretly fixed the panel which allow carbon monoxide to get in the car, then order an inspection after the fact. I sent photos of the carbon monxide detector and offered to ride in car March 8 with service tech and my carbon monoxide detector, he declined, stating, " I have a family". My healthcare providers have told me avoid any source of carbon monoxide. The video show the large oil leak..DANGEROUS>>>

Your concerns on your Camry were reported to Toyota by you. They documented them and sent a Toyota Field Technical Specialist to inspect your vehicle. He performed a comprehensive inspection with multiple testing instruments and found no defect present in the vehicle. We then offered to purchase your car for $3,000 more than your previous offer from ******, due to the excellent condition it was in. While we respect all of our guests opinions, Toyota's inspection did not confirm them as fact. Any further questions about this matter should again be addressed with Toyota.

Please open complaint #******** the problem has not been resolved with Doggett Toyota nor Toyota Corporate. On July 7, 2024 ************************** called and offered to purchase the 2020 Toyota Camry. We agreed and brought the title to Doggett. ***** was not there, *********************** offered us $22,000 cash for the car. We signed the title and gave it to *****. ***** gave us a copy of a credit voucher as a receipt. ***** stated it would take 10- 14 for the check to come from Corporate in *******. Yesterday, August 6, 2024, ***** called to say come pick up the check. I asked him to text me a copy of it. The check was not endorsed properly. I asked ***** to get the check endorsed properly and correct the address on the check. He stated that would take up to 7 business, I should just come get the check and try cashing it. So as of August 7, 2024 we have not been paid for the car. And August 6, 2024 the car with vin number ending(..1894) is for sale on Doggett Toyota website.

      Thank you,

The original check was valid other the the address on file had changed. When It was suggested the the check could be cashed or deposited as written, we were requested to create another check with the current address. On 8-9-2024 a revised check with an updated address was overnighted to the ******* family. We hope this brings closure to this issue and wish them well in the future.

I bought a new vehicle from Doggett Toyota back in December 2023 that included window tint as part of the sale. However, when I picked up the vehicle the front windows were not tinted. The salesman stated that I can independently have the windows tinted and they will reimburse up to $200 for it since I am not local. I finally had them tinted and submitted my receipt to the salesman on 5-10-24. After several weeks I followed up with the salesman and he stated he turned it in to accounting and have no status and didn't have the courtesy to find out. I requested him to provide me the accounting person's name and number but he didn't respond. I called and spoke to his sales manager on 6-4-24 and he promised to have accounting send the check and he will call me and let me know the status the following week but never did. I called again on 6-10-24 and left a message with their receptionist to have him call me but he never returned my call. I went to their website and chatted online with one of their finance person and told her my issue and she told me she will relay it to her team and someone will call me but no one did. On 6-21-24, I filed a complaint with Toyota ************ and they forwarded my complaint to Doggett and stated Doggett supposed to respond by end of the day on 6-24-24 but I received no response. I called Doggett again on 6-25-24 and spoke to another sales manager and he wanted me to send him the tint receipt so he can give to his accounting department. I've sent him the copy of the receipt on 6-25-24.

I attempted to reach you by phone today to apologize and give you a status update on your refund. We have been delayed by a nationwide computer vendor outage (3 weeks) and Hurricane ***** power outage (1 week) that crippled our accounting office in *******. I have attached a copy of the refund check issued and mailed on 7/19/24. We thank you for your patience and business. Have a great week!

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However, their excuse for the delay is not valid. Hurricane ***** did not hit ******* until July 8 and the auto CDK hack happened during June 19 and most if not all systems were back up July 4. I submitted my reimbursement request May 10 way before these two events occurred. Doggett only reimburse me after I gave them a negative review and contacted their VP and General Manager of Doggett Auto Group.

      Sincerely,

We bought a used 2021 Toyota Tundra on 1/19/2024. We have not received our license plates and title to the truck. I just had to go to our local license office and pay for a temporary tags extinction because the ones I got from the dealer ship have expired a on 3/19/2024. Have bought several vehicles in my lifetime and have never dealt with anything like this before. All the dealership tells us is excuses every time we ask them what the problem is. So they now have 30 more days to give us our license plates and title to our truck which is paid for in full. We traded our 2023 GMC Acadia which was paid for gave them title to it. They gave us ****** for it towards the 2021 Toyota Tundra.

This vehicle was not purchased from Doggett Toyota, it was Purchased from Kinsel Toyota. All of the service records are with ***************************** Toyota **********************************************************************. Toyota covers wheel alignment issues for 12 months/12,000 and this vehicle is outside those limits. Doggett Toyota did not sell or service this vehicle and has no liabilities for his current issues. We will be happy to assist with resolving his concerns on his vehicle. All financial responsibility would be between: ****************************, Kinsel Toyota and the terms of any written service agreements purchased from Kinsel.

I put a $500 deposit on a new Toyota Rav4 around March/April 2023. Added to the total of the sticker price was a $1,595 charge. I asked what this was for and the salesman, *******************, said it was for some window tint, nitrogen in tires and for Lifetime Car Washes. I was notified late on Friday May 5 that the car was in and ready to pick up. We finished the deal around 8 PM and the salesman said I would have to wait to get the sticker for the Lifetime Car Washes since the car wash was closed. He said I could pick it up when the tags came in. The tags didn't arrive till around June 30. When I went in to get them and the car wash sticker, I was told I couldn't get the sticker because the new dealership was discontinuing the program. I told the salesman and his manager, *****************************, that it was part of the original deal but they said they couldn't do anything about it.
