Duvall's School of Cosmetology Response
06/27/2024
DuVall's School of Cosmetology has both internal and external customers. External (clients) consist of the public who comes in to get facials, back treatments, waxing, lash/brow tints, and other services performed by the students under the supervision of the educators. Internal customers (students) are those that choose to attend the school and agree to learn within the structure and guidelines of the school to obtain training to prepare them for licensure and an entry level position in their new career. Training is both academic and hands-on. Hands-on includes doing services on manikins, classmates, and the public (external customers). When students are in attendance, they are required to do assignments (academic or practical). Appointments for services are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. There is a whiteboard with pre-set service assignments in the classroom, however, it is subject to change as clients re-schedule, cancel, make an appointment or someone walks in. Clients sign acknowledgements that they know students will be performing the service, and even if it were true that a student was performing a service with no knowledge, the instructors would break it down in step by step instructions and work with them as a learning exercise. Educators are experienced in building confidence by drawing out pieces of information that have been learned to complete a big picture project.
Regarding cleanliness, DuVall's School of Cosmetology has met the requirements of TDLR, **************** of ********* and Regulation, as long as it has been open. The most current inspection results dated 2/13/24 is displayed by the student spa training door and reflects 0 violations. Prospective students and clients are encouraged to come visit to form their own opinion.
