I hired Made in the Shade to install shutters in my house around the beginning of 2021. The upstairs bedroom required a custom cut due to the widow being an nontraditional size and shape. To do this it required supports to be cut that the shutters can safely and securely attach to. Upon arrival, they installed around March 9th 2021, it was noted that their manufacture did not supply them and they would return to complete this job. At that time, I paid the invoice in full and discussed the potential for another small job with the second upstairs bedroom. Over the better part of a year, my calls and texts were ignored with regard to the completion of the agreed upon project and to schedule a time to rectify the issue. I have operated with the benefit of the doubt in mind, obviously much too long, however, it has become clear that there is no real intent to rectify the issue and complete the job. I have attached images sent to the owner on Feb 27th 2022, per their request, showing the incomplete shutters. We remained in light communication throughout 2022, hence my delay in reporting as I believed they would follow through with completing the project. In hindsight, I question the intent as it begins to appear as though this was aimed at preventing a BBB complaint (a potential that was literally mentioned by the owner the last time they were in my home). My main complain here is that I paid for the project in full and have yet to see the agreed upon project completed. As was stated by the other owner (****) at the time, the project is about 80% done. As such, I am looking for 20% of my money refunded as that would be the fairest outcome for the business and I will simply have to absorb the cost that this failure has cause me. I can provide current photos if needed to show that the current status of these shutters remains incomplete.
