The complaint is with regard to the registration of the following domains: caro-mitis.com caromitis.com siliconheights.info siliconwafers.info I am the confirmed representative of the owner of these domains. The *** has requested the owner to perform additional contact info verification and has suspended these 4 domains while charging money for their registration. The owner has provided the required verification of his info, but *** continues to keep these 4 domains in the parked state. Now the renewal of the account is due in 2 weeks; and *** demands the payment to renew - while continuing to keep the domains inactive/parked. Numerous attempts to reach *** via email and via the phone they advertise have utterly failed - *** chose to ignore all our communications and does not respond either to emails or to voice mail. for the last few business days *** voice mail does not accept any more messages - their mailbox is apparently full. This situation is the course for serious concern -we want the domains stay active and operational. However in the situation when *** chose to ignore us, it is unclear whether we can even move the domain registrations to aa different provider.Attaching email trail with *** for the reference.

I have renewed few domains from this Registrar, but apparently the domain still expires and I had to pay the extra fee to restore the domain back. I had to transfer out all other domains before the domains proceeds to expire and will need to pay the restoration fees again.Total Domains : 10 Restored Domains : 6 Transferred out domains : 4

There seems to be no one running this company and our business .com domains are with them. We have emailed and left voice messages for almost a month with no responses. Our passwords do not work and we cannot reset them as now our security questions have been changed. The issue is there is zero response from this company - only a voicemail when you call in that is never returned.brokeredratemortgage.com and brokredrate.net are our domains.

I am rejecting this response because:  The business has not reached out to us to help resolve the complaint and our website URLS are now in jeopardy of being lost causing our business thousands of dollars os harm.  The business ownership needs to respond to the many customers like us that they have now failed and will eventually end up in lawsuits over the actions here.

For over 30 days not we have attempted to contact the business and zero communication has been returned.  No answers to fax, emails or voicemails.  This business is a serious liability to the general public.

We have no way to respond to this person other than generically until we can figure out what specific services he has with us. I included 4 snap shots showing tickets and chats opened and closed this month to show we are actually helping folks regularly. We started using this ticketing system in April of last year and we have handled over 9000 tickets since that time. We have handled over 5200 chats in that time as well and converted 2500 of those chats to email for followup when they try to chat outside of business hours

I also included a search across all chats and all tickets looking for a contact from an ***************************, and got 0 hits. So his claim that we are not answering calls, handling chats and responding to tickets is 100% incorrect. And we have no way to find his account based on his name unless he has used it when he contacted us via chat or via email support ticket.

Does that mean he didn't contact us? I take him at his word that he did but we can't find anything with the only info he has provided so far. Did he provide the BBB with more info that i am not able to see or did i miss something? If so please let me know so i can try to figure out what he has with us.

The only thing affected in our IP hijacking was the ability to register, renew or modify a domain through our website and some of our free parking services were also not working completely. We were however able to renew and restore domains manually and did so for many of our customers while we were getting our new ip space setup.

We are happy to help this gentleman but we need more info.

      Thanks,

I have two domain names registered with GKG.net that were expiring. When I tried to login to renew the domains, I had forgotten the password, since the original registration was so long ago. I tried emailing support, and at first received a response, but then my replies began getting returned as undeliverable. I have called and left messages 4 times, and sent multiple messages via the support.gkg.net that is listed on the website, over several days and have received no response whatsoever. In the intervening time, the domain has become inactive, making my entire online side of the business non-functional. I would love to renew these domains but I need someone to contact me VIA PHONE NOW because I don't think I am receiving emails at my address because the site is now inactive.

It looks like the two domains associated with your account were renewed on Dec 13th and are both active.  I also see that there has been an email that has been sent for verification which will result in suspended domains again if you do not respond to the domains. These are ICANN verification emails from us on their behalf. Please make sure you verify the email address by clicking on the link to ensure your domains do not get suspended again.

Also and for the record, the majority of our support happens via chat from 8 to 6 every day during the week and from 8 to 12 on Saturdays. If you sent an email you should have received a ticket number. If you can send me those ticket numbers I can check to see why they have not been responded to. If you did not get a ticket number in response then we did not get your email.

We also call back every number that has left a voice mail but we seldom get an answered call for some reason. Please make sure you leave a good number so we can call you back if you are not able to get through on the phone.

This domain has hijacked my att router/server and has forced me to go through theirs instead. As a result, ALL OF MY SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, including ************* Etsy and Pinterest Content has been monetized by website owner and used for their personal blogs, articles and self promotion of their "brand." I've discovered new accounts made under my name. This website is a scam.

It would be helpful if this person used terminology that actually meant something. There is nothing in this report to be able to respond to or to address. The statement on its face is ludicrous. The person obviously has no idea how technology works or they would never say a "website" took over their router.  We have been fighting hackers since **** and are a well established company with 100K plus customers all over the world and have been in business since ****.

This person needs to have an it specialist who knows what they are talking about take a look at their router. They will dispel this nonsense in seconds. You can't take over a router unless it is left wide open to the public and begging to be taken over (ATT knows better so if that happened it had to be the person who made the report). the second way a router can be hijacked is by compromising a PC internal to their network. This is pretty common. Routers by default block outside traffic to the router to their management interface so usually it is operator error that allows that  to happen.

We recommend they get an IT person who understands routers to take a look at their network. Most likely their pc is compromised. An apology is definitely due to us however anyone dumb enough to file this report probably will never understand they owe an apology for this completely

The BBB should filter nonsensical accusations like this one. AT the very least require the complainant show something that demonstrates their claim. Their lack of use of words even related to what could actually happen should be a red flag that they are clueless and need professional IT help before they start filing completely baseless claims using words that mean nothing.  This was a complete waste of time.

Our router was down for a day and a half and our backup router and our standby router both failed as well. We updated customers on our ******** page regularly letting them know what was going on and we left a message on our phones letting customers know what was going on. All services have been back up for some time now.  We cant tell you anything specific to this account since they didn't provide a domain however the customer has full access to all services to transfer out as normal.

Through my corporation, *************** we own the domain name beginners-mind.us which we purchased from GKG.NET in the past 2 years. The domain came up for renewal earlier this year we attempted to renew it around a month before it was due, just to be sure to secure its continued operation since a major website we run depends upon it. While I renewed two other domains at the same time, and the payment for the other two went through, the *** system stated that this .us domain had not been renewed due to an unknown error. Over the ensuing days, I attempted renewal many times and each time the *** system said the transaction had failed due to an unknown error. I called *** customer service and the man who answered said they have a known issue with the ".us" domain since the domain has a new owner and they are being slow to process payments for renewals. The man said he would personally ensure the issue was fixed immediately and he would call me back within 24 to 48 hours to confirm we could now renew the domain. He did not call back.I thus called again and a man -- it may have been the same one -- repeated the same story as to why the domain was not being processed properly and once again promised to fix it and call me back. He never did. I then called *** a further 76 times, and over the weeks the status of the domain went from due for renewal to 'deleted' with a suggestion that we pay $80 to *** to restore the domain. This of course is outrageous. I have continued to call *** almost daily and they have not answered the phone in over a month, closer to at least two months now. The domain still shows as deleted but capable of being restored with an extortionate payment. So at this moment in time it is not too late to save our domain before it goes back into the general pool of names, only to be bought by someone else before we can buy it again. This matter is thus urgent. Please contact *** and demand that they renew the domain for at least one year at their cost

Earlier this year GoDaddy , a competitor and a registrar, took over the .** and the .biz registry.  We have had nothing but problems in the transition. ******* promised quick follow *** and quick responses. We have had neither. We have even had customers try to get in the middle to help us connect but we can't get a response from GoDaddy, only promises to call back at some point in the future. This is predatory behavior in an attempt to steal customers. This behavior is the reason we as a registrar community kept Verisign from becoming a registrar 20 years ago. We were not provided with any notice of GoDaddy becoming a registry, which is a conflict of interest,  so we were not able to stop it.

We have been left with no choice to but to stop offering .us and .biz domains and asking our customers to transfer those domains out to another registrar. We were not aware early on that ******* was going to behave in this manner so we were not able to warn customers early on. We are sorry this customer and others have experienced this issue. If we can help transfer the domain out we will do what we can as we have with hundreds of customers recently.

GKG is the registrar of my domain name borte.us. When my domain was about to expire I tried to renew it multiple times and could not renew it. Each time they charged my credit cards but the domain wasn't renewed and it is expired now I cannot email and my website is down for almost 3 weeks now. I called them and guy answered the phone and we tried to renew it manually. And he said he will fix it. But it is still not fixed and now I cannot reach them by phone and email.

      Business response

      03/07/2022

This domain was not able to be renewed. We are not the registry and we reported the issue to the registry and we are still waiting for them to give us a reason why.  We have had thousands of others go through during the same time period but something is off on this one domain which is beyond our control. We can only submit the change and then the registry must respond. We are still waiting on them.

The registry was recently taken over by a new company and they have been slow to respond to anything we have sent. We still don't have full access to our own accounts. There are also issues that get handled at the registry level which we are not a party to and this might be one. We have no idea why the domain was not allowed to renew but we have had other domains have similar things happen and usually they were tied to legal issues. We were never informed until well after the issue was resolved.  We are not saying this is the case here, just that we do not have control over the domains. As registrars we can only interact with the registry but they have the control and they are not required to disclose certain things until after they are insulated.

It is unfortunate this happened however we are fairly certain the customer has already transferred the domain to another registrar and it is now completely out of our hands.

One more point I would like to address. The domain went down because it expired. We are required to prepay for the domain even though we did not receive a payment for it but as i explained, we are not ultimately in control of the domain, that control exists at the registry and they have had a less than stellar start.
