Our experience with Dallas Sod Grass was unbelievably HORRIBLE! Our Experience with the PRODUCT - The pallet of zoysia purchased appeared to be in questionable condition. It seemed dry and the cut appeared to be "very" thin with a poor root base. Because we were spending over $450.00 for this new grass, we made sure we followed the maintenance instructions given us thoroughly. We even prepared the ground beforehand by turning the existing soil AND adding organic cow manure before laying it, to hopefully give the grass a fighting chance. We laid the grass that same day without delay and it still died within 6 weeks. In our opinion, I would never purchase from this company again and I would never recommend their product. Our Customer Service Experience - We waited weeks for the delivery, which never came. James, who answered the phone most of the time, was unbelievably rude, shockingly insulting and downright mean! We were told over and over again each week the grass was not available. There had been a lot of rain, and we totally understood this might happen. But after the weather cleared and still no communication or grass delivery, we were told by James over the phone "Maybe if you would have just paid the extra money to have the grass put down by our crew, you might have it by now!" The next call to James a week later, we asked again when we would get our pallet of grass, his response was "I'm sick and tired of dealing with you people", at which time he hung up on us. A week later, the final insulting phone call with James we were told "our trucks are broken down, if you want your grass, you'll have to come and get it yourself!" That same day, we rented a truck from the hardware store, drove to the lot and picked up our grass. While there, we observed pallets of zoysia, which was confirmed by another employee. When we mentioned that we were told by James their trucks were broken down and they couldn't deliver, the employee seemed shocked at our statement as he looked around at all the vehicles parked in their lot. Not all of the DFW Sod employees were as disappointing and unprofessional as James. Several of them were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I still cannot recommend this company and will never work with them again even though they are 5 minutes from my home. P.S. The delivery fee was refunded.
