On [7/12/24] we took our white 2005 ****** to Kwik Kar of Cedar Hill for a transmission leak. Three days later the business calls us back on [7/15/24] informing us that they disassembled the whole vehicle to inspect it. They claimed to have found that the pan was crushed and the radiator was cracked, neither of which were the case when we got the car inspected a few days before. We said okay though and asked them to give us a quote on the vehicle. Several days passed and they wouldn't tell us anything, so we went to pick up the car on [7/25/24]. The battery [purchased on July 10th or 11th] was drained and they refused to jumpstart it. We were unable to get the battery running on our own, so we got another from ******* on [7/27/24]. After the car was turned on again it became undrivable. We could only get it down the road before it made an unbearable rattling/grinding sound. We had to pull over and get it towed home and now are worried that something else is broken.I suspect that if our pan is actually crushed that they did it, other reviews on their page claim that they have both crushed pans and broken engines before. I think them choosing not to jumpstart our car or reach out to us was their attempt to hide the fact that they allegedly broke our vehicle. They had our car for two weeks and we paid them to inspect it and give us a quote, which they did not do properly. The battery and the engine in our vehicle are brand new, they had presented with no issues prior to coming to Kwik Kar and had new issues before even leaving the lot.Initial Complaint

On July 1, 2024, I took my Jaguar to Kwik Kar of Cedar Hill #**** for my battery and alternator to be repaired. Upon reviewing the car, the store called and stated the negative battery cable was bad, so they cut it, and it has intermittently, which caused the battery Light and other Warning Lights to come on. Which effective the Body control module and now this will not start. I spoke the Manager ***** about the problem with my Jaguar and how his repaired worker messes up my car. Upon bring the car home the ****** would not crank and found out they 2 wires was spliced into battery monitor harness to adapt the connector for the incorrect monitor. The Battery they put into my ****** was ***** product. Now I have no car, I paid for my Jaguar to be towed to the Jaguar ***** ship to give me information on the problem. They stated that Kwik Kar of Cedar Hil has messed up the module of the putting an incorrect battery into my car and cutting my battery cable wires and putting tape on the cables. I paid for my ****** to be fixed for the services. I gave them $810.00, and this does not include my Jaguar being towed to the ****** deal ship. After talking to the Manager, he has not got back with me and resolving my problem or trying to fix the problem that Kwik Kar of Cedar Hill caused to my car. This is unacceptable and the only transportation I have to get me back and forth to the Doctor. No one at the place want to take the responsibility of repairing my car. As of today July *******, no one reach out to me concerning to fix the problemCustomer response

On August 18, 2023, the "professionals" at this Kwik Kar location installed the incorrect size battery in my vehicle, which resulted in a/c and horn malfunctioning within a week of the installation. I took the vehicle to be checked out at the dealer, who informed me the incorrect battery size was insufficient and to return it. When I returned the batter on August 28, 2023, ******* the store manager angrily and ****** stated they could not return it -- despite the receipt stating any issues with workmanship should be reported to the manager for a refund. The manager and alleged "regional manager," who called himself ****, alleged no batteries could ever be returned because they are electrical. Another employee said the battery could be returned but I waited too late (10 days from purchase). Several other Kwik Kar owners stated they do take batteries back ALL THE **** and especially if the incorrect size was stalled. ****, who refused to let me speak with the owner, stated the 24 and 27 batteries are basically the same. I told him I wanted them manufactured recommended size. He argued with me and basically said he was not returning the 10 day old battery that his staff installed without my knowledge. The front office staff are rude, bullies and give women a hard time, while blocking the customer from contacting the owner, who surely has no idea how badly the staff abuses clients. I will never return and want a full refund for the battery they installed incorrectly. They also stole my battery kill switch and kept my core without my permission. They are theives!Customer response

Corrected:
On August 18, 2023, the "professionals" at this Kwik Kar location installed the incorrect size battery in my vehicle, which resulted in the a/c and horn malfunctioning within a week of the installation due to insufficient power. I took the vehicle to be checked out at the dealer and was informed of the incorrect/insufficient battery size and advised by the dealer to return it.
My vehicle manufacturer recommends 27 group and not ************ they installed. When I returned the battery on August 28, 2023, ******* the store manager angrily and rudely stated they could not return it - - despite the Kwik *** receipt clearly stating any issues with workmanship should be reported to the manager for a refund. The manager and alleged "regional manager," who called himself ****, alleged no batteries could ever be returned because they are electrical. That makes zero sense. When I mentioned the no return policy is nowhere in writing on the receipt or on the store, he said well everyone knows thats the battery policy!
Another employee said the battery could be returned but I waited too late (10 days from purchase). Several other Kwik Kar owners that I contacted (corporate and franchises) both stated it is customary to take batteries back and they do it ALL THE **** especially if the incorrect size was installed.
****, who refused to let me speak with the owner, stated the 24 and 27 batteries are basically the same. I told him I get to decide what size I want in my car and I requested the manufacturer recommended size.
He continued to argue with me and basically said he was not returning the 10 day old battery that his staff installed without my knowledge.
The front office staff is rude, bullies and give women a hard time, while intentionally blocking the customer from contacting the owner, who surely has no idea how badly the staff abuses customers. Rest assured, I will never return to this low budget operation and Im requesting a full refund for the battery they installed incorrectly. They also stole my battery kill switch and kept my core without my permission. They are thieves. A police report has also been filed.Initial Complaint

I went to Kwik Kar Cedar hill the address is ****************** ,Cedar Hill ,** *****. To get an Oil change that was paid for on Groupon. They did the oil change and I drove off. I literally did'nt get a block away and my van stopp** it felt like my motor seiz** up. I call** the Kwik *** and told them that i was stopp** down the street and I just got the oil change they said bring it back. I end** up having it tow** to my home. Where I discover** there was no oil in the motor. The obvious cause of the motor seizing up. I took pictures of what I discover** which was that the oil spout had been pull** out of the top part of the motor and fresh oil ran down motor and clearly didn't go into the motor. I took my van back on Monday they r**id the oil change and repair** the oil spout. Their mechanic told me that there was metal in the oil and possibly water, he said that the lack of oil and metal meant that I would have problems with the motor and it would be soon. I left anf notic** a funny sound . I took the van to a mechanic and he conclud** that the lack of oil damag** the motor and it sound ** like a pison or metal hitting. My van had to be tow** home. I went to kwik Kar 6/6/23 , email** them ( attach**) about the fact that my van came in with oil and left and stopp** within a few hundr** feet of their lot with no oil. They basically treat** me like i was crazy saying they would'nt do anything The ** told me that. I previously show** them the videos and pictures of the oil trail which clearly showoil not going in the spout as it was not connect**. I was told it was not their fault. I said to them that the oil had been chang** the day before by the original owner so the spout was connect** but they never verifi** from the dip stick that oil was in my van and had they done that i would not drove off with no oil and damag** my motor. They are clearly at fault and have told me to gone on. One employee told me to bring it in but the ** told me not to. I ne** a motorInitial Complaint

On 8/20/22, I went to Kwik Kar to get my oil changed. I used a ******* that I paid $39.20 for. About a week later, my oil started to leak. I don't drive my car often so I didn't think it was an urgent issue. However, on 10/9, my brakes started to grind and decided I needed my car to be seen ASAP. Since it was Sunday and I was in another city, there were not many auto shops open. I decided to hire a mobile mechanic that day so I could get home safely. He ended up not fixing my oil leak or my brakes so the next day, 10/10, I took my car back to Kwik Kar. They looked at it and couldn't determine what the cause of the oil leak was so I had to make an appointment the next day on 10/11 for them to inspect. They fixed my brakes but said the part and labor to fix the oil seal cover was $975. I told them no and that I would be taking my car to the dealership from which I bought it from. On 10/12 the mechanic from the dealership sent me a video that the issue was in the oil filter housing, not the part that Kwik Car told me needed to be replaced. I paid $350+ to get this fixed. I called and spoke with Chris, manager at Kwik Kar, to tell him it was when I got my oil changed with them that they messed up my car and caused the oil leak. He refused to take responsibility and did not issue me a refund. I told him if he doesn't want to go that route that I will hire an attorney for damages.
