  My husband and I trusted Joshua Homes to build our dream home. Instead we encountered inconsistencies and unprofessionalism in the designing of our home as well as the build process. According to their website, they are 100% client-driven, honest and transparent. These are all lies. To name a few: 1. The design of the home was frustrating because the designer didn't follow instructions and Joshua Homes didn't take the time to ensure we understood the blueprints. We were expecting certain things in our home and he said we would have it. Later when questioned why we didn't have something, he would say wasn't on the plans so he didn't have to deliver it. 2. The cost almost doubled from what was the agreed upon budget. 3. His contractors would incorrectly complete items and we would have to pay for them to come back out to correct it. 4. We had to pay 2 different contractors to get our retaining wall completed because he hired contractors with no experience. 5. We requested steps for the retaining wall but Joshua had the plans drawn up without steps but told us we would have them. He didn't build us steps. 6. More than one of our exterior doors doesn't have weather stripping so water is able to enter the house. 7. Our kitchen and laundry room tile floor is damaged because of his contractors. 9. Our pocket doors are scratched because of the nails in the wall. 8. There was lack of communication from him as well as his team throughout the build process.There are many things that made this a terrible experience. One of the reasons we chose Joshua Homes because its' website states it is a company of FAITH... but it is really a company that is FAKE. Please don't use them to build your dream home unless you want it to become a nightmare.

  I'm happy to provide the following responses to the comments provided.1. Design - Joshua Homes provides a consultative approach to all aspects of the design process. We provide unlimited revisions to our clients plans and we assist throughout the process. During the design process the ********** family did not request anything other than what we provided and permitted for on the completed plans. In addition, Joshua Homes offered any modifications during the construction process and did complete multiple change orders at no additional fees to the homeowner.2. Cost Doubled - this statement is entirely inaccurate. Not only did the cost not double though the ********** family has not paid Joshua Homes in full nor according to our contract. On 10/7/2020 Joshua Homes provided a budget at a total cost of $848,747.40 with a management fee of $97,747.40. The ********** family requested we remove an entire section of the home out of the budget and we provided this budget on 2/3/2021 at $722,158.19 with a management fee of $65,000. The ********** family proceeded to request the portion of the home still be completed yet they did not compensate Joshua Homes for the original management fee shorting the company $32,747.40 from the original budget forecast. The final cost of the home was $970,083.43 and the ********** family has an unpaid balance of $30,618.51 since March 20, 2023. This BBB complaint has been issued due to the fact that we were left with no option but to send this balance to collections. The original budget to build the home compared to the final cost is a 14% increase. The increase in cost was due to ********** selections and changes as well as the retaining wall was not in the budget. Joshua Homes has provided all receipts for the construction of the home throughout the process.3. All cost are the clients responsibility whether planned or not planned, budgeted or not budgeted as stated in our contract. Joshua Homes has covered cost for contractors mistakes throughout the process and provided 100% transparency.4. Yes we did have to fire one contractor for poor performance on the retaining wall and hired another to complete.5. We communicated with the client that the steps could be added to the wall following the completion at an additional cost. Client did not request the steps to be completed at the additional cost.6. Weather stripping on doors is easily added although client moved in prior to the final inspection and has not given access nor completed the remaining items for the final inspection. We have not been notified of any weather stripping needed until now.7. We are not aware of any damaged tile.8. We take GREAT OFFENSE to insulting our level of FAITH. Joshua 24:15 states that "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL ****** THE ****** Inspite of the ************ short paying our management fee, misleading regarding not completing the man cave portion of the home yet still completing, hiring contractors outside of our agreement, moving in to home prior to final inspection and not paying our final invoice, Joshua Homes remained faithful and continued to overcome all obstacles to try and complete the home to the satisfaction of the ********** family. We have sent many emails with no reply since 3/20 with no reply.
