1 starVery disappointed in the company's customer care. Twice, I was not explained correctly the policies of freezing and canceling. After instructed to call corporate, they made an exception and applied a credit towards my monthly and apologized for the staff not following protocol on these policies. I said thank you because I liked this Upland location. I still had a credit which was explained it would be applied to my 2nd month. I would pay what I needed to. Well it wasn't and was charged the full amount. They kept pushing product on me for this credit. I was instructed again to call corp. Now feeling very uneasy in getting the run around. I called corp and shared I do not want to ever want to go back and to refund my month. She said she could not do that. I expressed , if I am sharing I will not ever go step foot in that facility, why am I being forced to go OR they just take my money. I then asked if I may talk with someone else, customer care was sure no one would help, she was it. I asked if she was the owner, she said no and that the owner would not respond to me. I said its the principle and i wanted to try even If I just voice my concerns of this location and her. I own a business and I would never force a client to attend if they were uncomfortable especially if there are legit concerns. The stand up tanning is what I used and I was happy BUT a company staff is what is important here in how they treat customers.Review fromApril C

1 starFirst, I stopped going to Palm Beach because it seemed as if I was never getting any rewards for being a member such as no free upgrades ever only reward I recall was a measley 20% off of tanning lotion that was no cheaper than 80 something dollars a piece . That's ridiculous. Then Easter rolls around the website says open at all there locations so what do I do? I drove to 2 different locations that are over 6 miles out of my way and they were closed. Update your website with all this money y'all make and hire these little girls to work for free tanning probably. I hate this company and there customer service. Only 1 star because I had to put at least that.Review fromAngie H

1 starI visited the salon in ********* yesterday evening to get a spray tan for the upcoming Easter weekend. The girl seemed helpful but really sold me things I did not want or need, it was twice what I usually paid. I ended up getting my spray tan and she sold me some kind of moisturizer that I will NEVER use again. She told me to put it all over, which I did and I actually put it a little bit thicker on my legs for moisture which turned out to be a HUGE mistake. The moisturizer kept my legs from getting ANY spray tan, they are blotched and white while the rest of my body is tanned. I even thought they looked funny and you can check store cameras and see that I went up to her and showed her my legs and asked if that was normal and she told me yes, it would even out. IT DID NOT, my legs are WHITE. Also, she very pushingly sold me the feet things so my feet would not be orange... GUESS WHAT... HUGE WASTE OF MONEY because THE BOTTOMS OF MY FEET ARE RIDICULOUSLY ORANGE... I have a spray tan twice to three times a year every year for years and have never been disappointed until yesterday. I will never ever recommend any of this to my friends, family, co-workers, Church family or ANYONE for that matter. My legs and feet look terrible. I am seriously considering wearing pants and closed shoes FOR EASTER this year.Review fromKaty D

1 starI have been a loyal customer at ********************** for years, but after my recent experience, Im reconsidering that loyalty. I was given a one-month free upgrade, which I used regularly. However, the store manager, *******, abruptly informed me it was a mistake and revoked it. When I agreed to use my original bed, district manager ****** *** then refused to let me tan for the full session. I understand policy changes, but the lack of professionalism was unacceptable. Instead of handling the situation respectfully, I felt harassed and belittled. When I later tried to express my concerns, ****** *** dismissed me with a smirk. Since then, I have emailed and called but received no meaningful response. When I called the ********** location, ******* **** up on me.On March 24, 2025, I received a voicemail from ***** stating the situation had been investigated, but it was clear I am not valued as a customer. ********************** should review the security footage and train *******, ***** and Ashle in leadership and conflict resolution.Managing a business isnt just about enforcing policiesits about treating customers with respect. If this is how they operate, I wont be the only one taking my business elsewhere.Review fromApril S

1 starThe recurring charge for this business is bull s*** You have to physically go to the salon to cancel. Also, you have to cancel within a certain time frame, in which they do not have displayed. Telling your customers this information once when they start a package is not reasonable. People put their packages on hold or continue it for extended amounts of time. I reopened my paused package (that I was still paying for!) in January for my son and went in to cancel it on February 27, because he hadnt gone even once. They told me that theyre going to take my money again in March, because it was after the 25th. Withdrawals happen on the 1st. This feels like theft. I cannot find a direct corporate number to complain which is also bull s*** I will NEVER recommend this business or return myself again.Review fromBr A

1 starTerrible customer service and cancellation experience. Manager speaks down to you and is condescending. They refuse to contact you using your preferred method. Manager left me a VM saying I could be refunded then told me it wasn't possible when I returned her call. Why say it on my VM if it wasn't possible? Overall awful experience and overcharged.Review fromKATHY H

1 starI have been a member at planet tan now Palm beach tan and the level of disrespect I was given by ******* that works there was off the charts rude. I dont normally complain or right reviews but when I was told that if I want to learn and have better knowledge about the lotions Im currently using I should seek her (*******) first off I have worked in the tanning business for years and I know shes wanting to sell the products Iv been in sales industry for over ******************************************************************************************************* again. I am hoping that someone will maybe teach or more so coach and develop this employee on better presentations towards the guest because at the end of the day we are the end results of your business profits!!Review fromMary M

1 starIf I could give this place a zero I would. The salon itself is OK, but the customer service is seriously lacking. I had a membership for a couple of months and I canceled it. I even got a confirmation email that said your account is canceled, and you will no longer be billed. Two months later they start to bill me again. Now they are giving me some BS excuse as to why they cant refund my money??? Mind you, I havent stepped foot in that place since June 24. Again, I got a confirmation email clearly stating that I would no longer be billed. They do not stand behind what they say, I even have it in writing, and it still did me absolutely no good. BUYER BEWARE CONSUMER BEWARE. DO NOT GO TO PBT.Review fromGeoffrey B

1 starWhen I visited the *********************** I decided to stay and not return to ****************************************. I asked Palm Beach Tan to return my credited money. They refused and stated I signed away that money when I joined and was only due an in store credit for their over priced items. When I asked what happens to my money if I can't return. As you can see from the email chain they did not have the decency to respond to that question. Just know Palm Beach Tan will steal your money if you are unable to return for an over priced in store ********* response to ************************* if I no longer live in the area and can't recoup my credit then Palm Beach tan just keeps "Your" money. That is not a good business plan and leads me to file a complaint with the state of Florida and explain what is being done with "MY" money as well as put this under Palm Beach reviews wherever possible. Sad that Palm Beach would do this over $56.00 regardless of what a member signs. Sounds just like what happens to people when they sign a shady gym membership. On Thu, Jul 11, 2024, 1:18PM ******** ******* wrote:Hi ********,The credit is on your tanning account. As stated in the Stay and Save document that you signed, the amount that you paid each month to be frozen is non-refundable to your card, however is placed as a credit on your tanning account. This is how the program is set for everyone and is stated in the document.Sincerely,******** ******* Customer Care Coordinator **********************/ ********************** **************
