    On August 12, 2021, Turtle Creek Assets, Ltd. and its owner, Gordon Engle, (collectively "Turtle Creek"), entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with the Georgia Attorney General. The Assurance settles allegations that the company committed multiple violations of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act.

    The Attorney General alleges that Turtle Creek harassed and deceived consumers by threatening consumers with arrest or imprisonment if they did not pay the debt; failing to disclose that they were debt collectors attempting to collect a debt; and failing to provide consumers, within five days after the initial communication, a written notice containing certain information required by law.

    Under terms of the Assurance, the business agreed to cease collections on all Georgia consumer accounts it owns and turn those accounts over to the Attorney General so that they cannot be sold or collected on in the future. Said accounts include a total alleged contract value of over $19.8M. Additionally, the company must pay $83,000 for purposes that may include, but are not limited to, civil penalties and attorneys' fees and other costs of investigation and litigation, or to be placed in, or applied to, any consumer protection law enforcement fund, including future consumer protection or privacy enforcement, consumer education, litigation, or local consumer aid fund or revolving fund, used to defray the costs of inquiry leading hereto, or for other uses permitted by state law, at the sole discretion of the Attorney General.

    The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.

      I made a bet with my debit card using the Caesars Sportsbook app. After winning the bet, ******* refuses to pay "as promised". Their customer service says the system that handles debit card payments "is down". Bank ACH transfers are an alternative way to receive one's winnings but they don't include my Bank as one they do transfers to. ******* promised to pay my bet as placed and is not fulfilling the promise. They should return my winnings on my debit card as easily as they accepted the bet with it. They are intentionally discouraging bettors from collecting their winnings in a timely manner and encouraging them to ****** more on the platform. I want others to know before they bet. I want my winnings.

      I purchased a bunk bed set and king bedroom set with Aaron's back in 2016! I ended up becoming incarcerated in 2017 for the first time! Well while I was incarcerated I served 5in a half months! During this time I lost my home, my children,my car, my mind, and my freedom! I lost everything! During the process Aaron's was not contacted as I ask a relative to do so that they can retrieve their belongings before maintenance threw it out! Apparently they sold the contract to a third party named Turtle Creek without giving me a chance to explain for the last 4 in a half years I have been trying to get in contact with someone so that I can make a payment and discuss payment arrangements! I've left several voicemails within the last 4 in a half years and no one will call me back! I received a letter from a relative recently of a court hearing from supposedly Aaron's and Aaron's customer retention management expressed that it is not them but, turtle creek who is trying to sue me for more then I signed for! The total I owed for the furniture was around 3400 maybe less and they are asking for 7400 dollars! Now I was young at the time of sighing the contract I was still learning and growing, they took advantage of that and are refusing to speak to me about finding a resolution! I'm tired of them running and trying to charge me more then double of what I owed originally! It is fraudulent and should be illegal! Get it together UNITED STATES and stop allowing these businesses to trample over those who don't know any better! It's selfish and greedy!
