I hired RB Construction for a renovation of my condo. The work began approximately March 2024. The work was extremely substandard and they kept asking for money without anything being done on time or correctly. They even told me that they're a ********* who was supposedly working on my cabinets, ran off with the money. My apartment sat and sat and sat without any work being done for months while I was paying rent. They had assured me in April that if I moved out, they would have my apartment completed by May 31 that did not happen. I have had to hire a new contractor and everything they have touched has had to be redone. This is including, but not limited to floating the floors, painting, plumbing and electrical their electrician which just put lights in the ceiling with no way to wire them when I would ask what the status was with my kitchen cabinets their response would be we can't bother our ********* because he might. Think we don't trust him. This is honestly the most crooked contractor business I have ever encountered once I told him I was not going to keep paying them for work not done. The work stopped, and here I am in December still in my rental with a new contractor that actually took pity on the situation once he saw the state of that condo And I will be in very soon. In a period of under two months from when my new contractor began work, this RB Construction has had multiple complaints that I have seen, and they should not be trusted, and they should not have a reputable business because they are not reputable. I plan on seeking civil action against them once I am settled in my new place and there is a long long list of so many things that they said they had done and did not and basically have $65,000 of my money.Initial Complaint

Hello Ms. *********** have completed 90% of the entire project. She added more work to the project and didnt give us more time.
We have been working on finishing this project in a timely manner but she has been callling every hour but we cant move forward without the permit and the inspections for the city. We have to wait for the city to approve the permits and the inspections.
The form she has been commicating with us is rude and disrespectful.
Our intention is for this not to happen.
Our plan is to finish the project!
This Saturday February 10th.
I have talked with her over the phone and we came to an agreement to finish by Friday.
Ms.**** and her husband called very rudely today and agresssive after that conversation.
We did our best to solve any problem but it was very complicated to speak with them in a professional matter.
We didnt even get to talk to them about the situation before they had put bad reviews online on ********* Thumbtack, Better Business, and more.
Attached will be the pictures that The owner ****, ****** explained to Ms. **** our plan is to finish the project but the customer had no reasoning. If you have any questions or concerns email us @

Date signed contract : December 14, 2022 Date it started : January 15th Contract completion term : 35 days ************** license RB ********************** - inactive PV ****** Bond expired Dec 31 2022 Registration expired - May 26 2023 *********, ** where work was done Not registered No permit filed LLC was only registered on July 5th 2023 ******************* Filed Feb 3, 2023 with ************** in ******* The contract to remodel a 80 sq ft bathroom for my elderly mother was 35 days. They have made multiple mistakes, massive delays, weeks upon weeks with no communication. We have caught them lying on multiple occasions. We found out they never pulled a permit. My mom had to hire a lawyer, and they still didn't respond to a request to finish or return money they had not done work for. I tried one last time to appeal to their compassion to NOT leave my 76 year old mother with an unfinished bathroom and severe emotional distress (she went months with exposed wiring, going to the bathroom in a medical bedside potty and had no shower since it's her only bathroom) but still they were demanding more money. It has been now 10 months and they have quit responding. Including lawyer fees, my mom is owed $7,415 of unfinished work she paid them for that she will have to pay more money to someone else to finish. Warning : they will reply to this complaint defending and blaming us for cancelling things they failed to do in a timely manner or lied about. I have significant documents of evidence to the contrary.Initial Complaint

Sought RB Construction USA for possible home addition/renovation project. My main point of contact ***************, ************, and Josua, ************. Both gentlemen met me at the residence for which the work would be done on, *****************************************************, on 5/19 for an initial visit to bid on the project. I was informed by ************ that he would have to come back with his father, ************, due to the fact that it was his fathers business. I was informed that ************ would be the one to provide an estimate and give a more comprehensive breakdown of what could and couldnt be done. *********** also let me know that the addition we were considering would require architectural planes, which we lacked, and he had someone in house that would be able to provide such a service. *********** then phoned the architect, ****************, while on the property to get an estimate for his services to draw up the existing floor plan, future plan as well as bracing, foundation, and electrical plans. I received an email from RB Construction USA on 5/20 with the architects bid for services totaling $3,600. I received an emailed estimate for the house on 6/8 after ************ visited and evaluated the property himself. I relayed to both *********** and ***** that I was meeting with others and would reach out in time to move forward. I was told that the architect had already reached out to the ****************, and is aware of their requirements if I did decide to utilize his services to better streamline the project. I was contact via text on 6/9 by **** to ask if I would like to move forward with the architect, and again on 6/13 with the same inquiry and to be told his prices are changing. I opted to take the risk and wrote a check to RB Construction USA in the amount of $3,600 per their emailed invoice on 6/13 and confirmed text on 6/16, and hand delivered it to them on 6/16. It is now 8/2 and I have no plans, no contact for *********** or call from him as the owner, out $3,600.Customer Answer

Hello ******************,
Thank you for your review.
We never rushed you into working with us. We gave you time to decide if you wanted to work with us or not.
We gave you a detailed estimate to build you Addtion.
You liked our prices so you decided to work with us to make some blueprints for your project. This was weeks after we gave you a estimate.
Once you decided to work with us we had our architect and project manager meet with you at your home to go over the details of your project. You didn't have the survey of the land so they to measure your lot. Each corner of the house interior and exterior walls. To make the new blueprint.
2 weeks after we went to your home for the 3rd time.
You wanted a full refund at first suggestions you needed for a emergency and later on telling you were talking to other companies who were less expensive us.
We informed you we couldn't give you a full refund because we had already started working on the blueprints. We could do a partial refund or complete the blueprints
like we intended.
Then another 2 weeks passed and you decided to give us the green light again to finish the blueprints.
Then a week later you are demanding the blueprints *** threatening us with BBB if we didn't have them ready now!
We lost a lot of time waiting for you to decide if you wanted a partial refund or to complete the blueprints.
We did not work on the blueprints at this time since you were unsure of what you wanted.
Our goal was to finish the blueprints and continue with the project but your goal was to get a full refund after the we had been working on your project because you found a cheaper alternative.
The last time we talked to you over the phone. You were yelling and cussing instead of figuring out a solution thatCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: As indicated in the message threads, which held 99% of all communication, the timeline indicated by RB Construction is 100% false and fabricated. Additionally, RB construction was not paid for an addition project which was quoted at over $90K. The funds in the amount of $3,600 were provided as instructed by RB Construction solely for the Architect to draw up current floor plans among other items as indicated in the invoice provided by RB construction. This was a personal check written out with the memo line indicating it was for the architect and engineer fees. As such, RB construction took possession of the $3,600 and was suppose to pay it to the architect, their subcontractor, for his work. RB Construction has not paid the architect any of the funds. I have been in contact with the architect and he has also confirm nonpayment from RN construction. He has additionally shared that due to non payment since meeting at the residence and taking measurements, he has not spent any time on this project. As such I believe RB Construction has misused funds and ultimately emanated in theft by deception, violating ** property penal code.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because the business was never told I was going with another business. The payment made was for the architect to make blueprints. The business failed to pay the architect which led to blueprint not being drawn. The excuse provided was that they used up the funds to communicate. No manual labor was done. No materials were purchased. No architect was paid. No blue prints were created. This company took the fund for the architect and did no work.
