Mind you almost everyone in the party flew out of state to ***** to celebrate my moms birthday. We celebrated my moms 50th birthday 5/24 and we wont ever come back. The opener for ******************* wasnt funny and was talking about black people. The table next to us was talking about how they felt uncomfortable. (Mind you we paid good money as we got a 8 table top and a 2 table top and we were all black) we were told to keep it down once and we respected that. Another man who was ***** decided to come over for no reason and start drama trying to be all big and bad. He told ny auntie about the noise and she politely told him someone just came over and spoke with us. He decided to show his chest because she wasn't giving him the reaction he wanted and was being respectful he told her to leave. So we all followed to leave as we all came together. Once he got around his crew and other employees he decided to lie and say my auntie hit him. Instead of the establishment speaking to us with respect to see what really happened. They just listened to him and were rude telling us to leave. Some people in our party were drinking as we felt attacked by the establishment it got heated. The security guard I believe he was that started it all was trying to get my uncle to fight him so I had to put myself between them as he was egging my uncle on. He was squaring up with my uncle and kept putting his hands in his junk like he wanted to fight. No one was trying to calm the situation at all. After we left and they locked the door. I seen a black worker and the security guard handshake like what they just did was ok. In todays society stereotyped is not ok. The fact that no one tried to talk to us calmly to defuse the situation is the icing on the cake. To be treated like that was unacceptable. Our feelings were hurt to be perceived like we were the problem. Do better Addison improve do better. REFUND is definitely the right thing to do. This hurtful to all of us and really changed us.

I purchased a ticket to an event for January 14, **** at the Addison Improv. I was attending the event with a friend that was traveling from out of town to attend the event with me for my birthday. I do not currently have transportation so the friend was driving me to the event so that we could attend together. The friend was not able to make it into town due to a snowstorm in the state and city that they live in. I called Addison Improv 3 days before the event asking if the event would be cancelled due to the upcoming weather conditions. The person I spoke said they do not cancel events until the day of the event. I would have to wait and see. Unfortunately, I had no transportation to be able to attend the event. I did try to see what the cost of taking an uber or lyft from my home would cost to be able to attend the event, and the cost was over $100. The ******, ***** and surrounding area have been under dangerously cold weather conditions, and Addison Improv did not cancel the event. When I called the day of the event and asked about a refund due to the dangerous weather conditions, the venue told me that the road conditions are still drivable and there will be no refunds. I am requesting that the venue will show consideration and refund my money for an event that I did not and was not able to attend.

Date of transaction 11/10/2022 Amount $333.61 paid to tickets-Center.com .order number 48722250.Paid for an event at The Addison Improv. Charged for 8 people when the order was for 2 people.Presented tickets at venue. Venue realizing the error advised me that they will issue a refund for the full $323.61 and sold me 2 tickets for $61.50, promising a refund in 2 days. Refund never came. Called tickets-center.com at ****************. They declined to refund me for my unused tickets and claimed that the venue box office is responsible and they are not affiliated with them. Called The Addison Improv at ***************** and they declined to refund me saying they are not affiliated with tickets-center.com. Both these businesses are complicit in this scheme to defraud people.

      Business response

      02/27/2023

As clearly stated in the Case Description; the consumer used a third party ticket seller to acquire their tickets they are requesting a refund for; Amount paid to tickets-Center.com . As such, they would need to seek further action with said company.

The Improv is in no way affiliated with ANY third-party resellers, brokers, or secondary markets.
The tickets purchased by the consumer at the actual venue box office were used to obtain entry and attend the event. That is the only transaction the Improv is associated with.

      See Attachment/File: Improv Order

      Customer response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As explained before, The Improv claims no affiliation with third party tickets-center.com yet they did promise a refund of my tickets purchased through tickets-center.com and turn around and charge me another $61.50 for tickets they sold me the night of event while I am holding Valid Tickets worth $323 from the tickets-center. Who in their right mind would purchase more tickets unless one was promised a refund.
If the Improv are declining to admit the responsibility for the tickets-center.com then at least they should refund me the extra tickets they made me purchase for $61.50 while I am holding what they claim to be valid tickets from third party. The Improv was misleading is culpable for this action.
The Improv perpetrated a lie and to add insult to injury denied responsibility. I wonder how many others were cheated out of their third party tickets tgat evening and tricked into buying tickets at the door. I hope the BBB can look into that. I am prepared to help out by placing ads in local media asking others with similar experiences to come forward. It is the obligation of The Improv to make it right as they propagated this cheating scheme and hid under the claim of non-affiliation.

I purchased tickets for the ********** show on 12/1/21. (********* ********** Order) Unfortunately we were able to make the trip to Dallas for the weekend due to my Wife contracting Covid. We reached out to ********** and Addison Improv for refund and were denied. I'm sure that these companies would rather we stay home and not come to the show with Covid. I know that this is not the first time someone has had to bow out because of Covid. I just want these two companies to act like they are fair and give us the refund for a show we could not attend due to the pandemic situation.
